I agree with the previous comment. Fantastic tutorial. Straight forward, very and easy to understand. No music in the background making it difficult to focus.! Spot on! Thank you so much! This is really cool, but I’m wondering why you would need to cut the circle in half. What would you have to do with a more complex shape like the letter “A or p” for example?
@ForeverDansky3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Suzanne! The circle was cut in half in order to the use the 'Revolve' feature. For other shapes that aren't symmetrical the 'Extrude & Bevel' option may be better suited :)

I wonder if you might consider doing an updated tutorial on this topic at some point. I tried to follow along using AI 2023 and the panel that appears after clicking on 3D and Materials is quite different from the one in your video. Some of the options were the same, but other were different. For example, when it cam time to apply the art to the sphere, I didn't see a Shade Artwork check box...

I follow your instructions to a T but it wouldn’t show a 3D ball. Just 2D flat grey circle??? Tried it exactly as you described but I get the same thing. Not sure what I’m doing wrong
@ForeverDansky3 жыл бұрын
Hey Suzanne, try using a different colour (eg. orange), and see if it’s still 100% flat, as certain colours don’t show the shading too well sometimes.
@suzannedawson41203 жыл бұрын
@@ForeverDansky I tried it in a grey like you suggested. Then tried it in red and that worked. Then I made a white “egg” and that worked but when I went to make another egg there was a flat dark circle sitting on the front of the egg? Maybe my illustrator is corrupt. I will call tech support

Hi Dansky, would you mind showing us how to apply a "logo-ed" text into this 3d object? I made a really nice text logo but would like to add it to a sphere to make it look like the logo is on a balloon, lol. I've created the logo and made it into symbol but for some reason it is just not showing up on the sphere...
@ForeverDansky6 жыл бұрын
Hey Stacy, when you go to map the logo/artwork to the sphere, have you double-checked that the artwork is positioned on the front-facing part of the sphere, rather than behind? Also is the 'preview' box check to show any changes in real time? If this doesn't work, try saving your logo as a PNG, then re-importing it as this flat image, convert to a symbol, and see if this works :)
