Great tutorial and I really enjoy the little bit of psychology you throw into these. It really helps define the thought process a little to see hints at how other designers are thinking when working on something.

In case you are still wondering, I would greatly recommend Paint Tool Sai. It is 63$-ish, so still a bit of money, and has a good few less features, but is a very good program overall, and there are very many tutorials about it here on youtube and other places around the internet.
@paulhellsfortune487312 жыл бұрын
@FZDSCHOOL sry..Intuos is a standard tablet,and Cintiq is a direct drawing monitor. So there is a HUGE difference. Intuos 3 and 4 are not much different from each other. I believe you misunderstood the question.

I just watched the three videos, and I enjoyed every single second - extremely impressive! And what a nice style, usually I only watch photo realistic speed paintings but this is fantastic! And then I saw a comment on the third video saying a user watched the video again just to listen to you talk, and I realized my computer was muted all the time... But I'll gladly watch them again - unmuted, of course =) I'll definately check out the rest of your videos!

@dubvikdnb Just use the default round brush. Brushes are just tools, but the best way to learn is to just use the default round brush.
@SpasmAtaK11 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure he does not use the Gimp... But anyway, he did say that he prefers how Painter handles the line drawing over how Photoshop does. Maybe this has changed cause lately all the design cinema are made in Photoshop.
@_Xerius_12 жыл бұрын
This is an awesome brush! Where can I get one?
@RedstoneOblivion11 жыл бұрын
He probably prefers different tools within each type of program. For instance, he might prefer a shading tool in gimp over the one in painter, or prefer the text tool in another program to photoshop.
@Fengdesigns14 жыл бұрын
@vidshank The brush is from Painter 4.0 to Painter 10. You can't import brushes from Painter into PS. I hope that's not what i said in the video :P In anycase, I only use Painter to sketch. For everything else (99% of the time), i use photoshop. The brush engine in PS is pretty impressive as well.

Can't find anywhere this special old "camel hair brush"! =/ And how its the size of the brush in the initial strokes?! How can I find this old brush to import to my Painter 12?! Someone here knows?! I can get close with some brushes but no the same feel...
@ic.xc.7 жыл бұрын
It's the default brush. Brushes really don't matter.
@LudicGraphix13 жыл бұрын
@SachaKaBoom It has a bit better respond time from the tablet, barely anything thought, and it's JUST for painting so that's what that program does best, unlike photoshop, which is still really good.

when your doing your lectures in class about this are the students sitting at desks just watching for the two and a half hours or are they actually on their own computers also doing the same drawing in a way like the"zombie knight" but their own version while your during your version and talking about it.

What software do you use, my software came free with my graphics tablet and its pretty bad, i can even draw a straight line that's not all blurry if i zoom in a bit =/. I'm only 14 so i can't really afford photoshop but if you could suggest a good alternative that would be very helpful thank you (i am a budding character designer) Thank you!

Feng, what brush do you use on the line work. I have Painter X3 and can't seem to find anything that gives as nice effect, especially when doing the refining line work pass. Thanks
@furyberserk12 жыл бұрын
Have you ever drawn detail so much that you forget the limit of picture. For example when drawing that knight at 6:08 and while drawing the lines you forget where the flesh is because it looks somewhat similar to the cloth? Like you have so much detail that you forget what you wanted to place where you wanted it? I ask because you didn't make the cloth have any real limit like a thick line to show where the cloth ends.

I do extra work for movies and shows that how I get my money there plenty of ways a 14 year old can get money, don't think negative just because your younger.
