you say this is not an "art thing", but this paintings are so much better than so-called art out there.

@FZDSCHOOL Is this one portrait A3 with 3 roughs? Thank you Feng Zhu, you really opened my creativity to a whole new level. Thank you so much. I cant thank you enough and I hope you get to realize that you are helping a lot of people, as busy you are. These tutorials or just hearing you talk about the industry will inspire many to be artists and bring out more creativity in the industry. Thank you.

The FZD Design Cinema Contest deadline is approaching soon. Be sure to submit your entry by September 30, 2013 to win a trip to Singapore. Good luck to you all~~

@justtimeticking no, any question is fine and your's is actually very valid. However, the best way to learn the brush is to just stick with the default round brush, paint hundreds of paintings (rough, practice stuff is fine), and overtime, you will get used to it. Starting with custom brush, or messing with settings can only make things harder. Stick to the basics first

I really do love all your videos and they are a great resource tool for beginners and artist with intermediate skill tryng to get that last bit of polish into their portfolio. (like myself) I'm interested about attending your design school for the six week digital painting and concept drawing course but I've missed the deadline for Janurary. How often does the school do the six week courses?

@theh8er1988 Drawing on paper is fine and i recommend it! Just scan in at high res (300dpi setting), use the level adjuster to brighten up the white (make sure the white paper is white), then set the drawing layer to multiply. Now you can paint "under" it without using any tracing software.

@ebling1000 I totally agree with you. And on your own projects, you should take as long as you want (which is what James did with Avatar). But when working with clients, speed is always a factor. Our industry is a business and deadlines are real. In the ideal world, time would take a back seat. For students watching and wanting to get into this biz, they need to produce a lot of work in a short amount of time. And never sacrafice quality for quantity; you just need to do both at the same time

Hi Feng Zhu, i was wondering about your brushes, i know you use the chalk brush for most of you painting however every now and then when you paint for you use a specific brush. i would love to know, briefly, about that brush. also, all of your videos are amazing and very helpful, please keep it up :)
@MrTheKing7719 жыл бұрын
Cap'n Squishy well i think he use most of default brushes like 90% of time and other 10% are just some brush pack for small details as tree grass or cloud
