Hi! I’m a product designer from Politecnico of Milan Italy and I’m going to start my exchange semester in feb. I’m really glade to see your routine and read your answers to the comments.😍 I got less scared about the courses reading that you still have time to work and socialize! How many hours do you dedicate to your uni assignment per day? There are a lot of group projects? I hope that the workload is not as much as my home uni’s, sometimes is hard to have time for yourself especially next to deliveries 😅. Thanks for the video!

Hi there! I just finished my first year so the workload wasn’t crazy as they do ease you into it the first year but I am not too sure what it will be like next year to be honest! From what I see of my friends in their second years it seems they might dedicate 2 hours a day to work? Otherwise they just spend an entire day catching up on projects and lectures to get it all done and don’t do much for the rest of the week. I think if you manage your time right and stay on top of the work load you will be completely fine as things only do get quite tough when you ignore lectures of projects too long. I feel the workload here will be much easiest compared to milan !!

This was some info a sent to a girl also asking about the course incase it helps - To answer your questions I am only in my first year and second semester so I am not an entire expert quite yet but can respond to my best ability. Honestly, is the course hard? And do u have time to socialise? So far, no this course isn't hard BUT time-consuming as its very different from say a business course where you are only writing reports and make presentations online etc. as in this one you are constantly creating, drawing, painting, measuring and more which I wayyyyyyyyyyy prefer over any other degree that's only text-based (TRUST ME). I was studying business and if you are a visual learner like me it was not inspiring at all (a business degree). I do have time to socialise and I have a casual job where I work 3-4 days a week as well as my own small business I run. My boyfriend and friends are at the same uni at me doing similar degrees so sometimes a lot of my socialising is a combination of 'studying' and socialising. Is the portfolio work or more theory? Both! Each semester you will probably be making a portfolio / design project as well as studying theory in another unit (as you do 4 units so each one is something different). Each unit you do something completely different so it won't be all building/drawing. I am currently learning about architecture styles and the history of them in one unit and creating a project design for a beachside kiosk in another. Also, would u recommend using a computer (apple pro) or the apple pro iPad? I love Apple but unfortunately, they are not good if you are planning on doing this degree or anything similar. This course requires a laptop that can run large-sized programs with lots of RAM like Revvit, Formit and more which you cannot download if you own an apple computer. An apple pro iPad would be great for taking notes and doing sketches on though! I don't have one but a LOT of other students do and they look super handy so I would defs look into getting one. Laptop wise if you do have an apple computer and don't want to get another one (fair enough) you can use the laptops at uni to run these programs or look into purchasing a cheap monitor even to use at home? I am not an expert with the laptop situation so I would give QUT a call and ask to speak to a current interior student about if its okay to use Apple. I personally use a Lenova Yoga Dell which works well a lot of students also use Surface Pro's ) which is what QUT will probably recommend for you to get.

Hi Lily! I'm Japanese and Im gonna be QUT student this July. I'm still looking for a place to stay while at there...One thing i wanna ask, How did you find a place to live at there? and also if you know, which area in Brisbane is popular to live for QUT students? or any recommends? My favor is to stay at the share house or probably rent own apartment. Because of the lack of knowledge of these things, I have been stacked for how to search a house and so on. So could you give me any comments by any chance? Btw, i like your outfits in this video:)

Hi there! Ooo so exciting!! The market right now is really difficult to rent in brisbane (really anywhere) but if you are happy to join a share house with people you haven’t met before I recommend looking at ‘Flat Mates’ (website you can find others looking for people to join their share house). This is definitely an easier option then finding a house by yourself or even with people you already know. Popular areas really depend on which uni campus you will be at. If at Kelvin grove campus then Kelvin grove to enoggera are popular (really anywhere that you can get a bus or train to uni would be super handy). If your at the gardens point campus then the city will be difficult to find a place to stay but you can live really anywhere and just catch a bus or train in. I would just try to find a house first then see how close and accessible it is to get to uni. Hope that helps!

Hi Charlotte! Tbh I have had sooooo many issues with QUT regarding their exchange program and super difficult to deal with in regards to this particular course (but I’m only looking at European countries so maybe that’s why) and for accomadation really depends what your wanting (to meet new people, have your own space or just be there to study). I stayed at Iglu CBD was great to meet people but really keen for my own space as I have 6 roomies. I would probably wait until you got into your course then pick but also spots do fill up super quick so it’s hard !!

If your looking at college or student accom then defs apply as soon as you can as they fill up really quickly but if you have no clue which uni you will get into then possibly wait ? Sorry I’m not super helpful with this question as I applied last minute but due to covid there was heaps of spots available

A strong passion for languages was born in me but I'm not good at it, I don't know if my fatigue is connected to my being sensitive, introverted and blocked or not because I noticed that most people can study languages easily , I don't know if they were all born with the innate predisposition and I together with the minority are the only losers who don't have it and if you need to have a talent not to struggle with languages...

Hi! I can’t remember off the top of my head as if you are applying for 2023 they are currently deciding the fees. Most units are around $1-3,000 and if you are doing uni full time you will be doing 4 units per semester. Hope this helps!
@lilym19
@lilym19 2 жыл бұрын
Update: each unit currently it actually $1,200 per unit and you have 4 units per semester. So $9,600 yearly (:

I am so bad at drawing!! They teach you all the skills you need and if you invest in a light board to help you trace you will be fine! Some people are definitely very talented drawers though which does help
