A hanok (Korean: 한옥, 韓屋) is a traditional Korean house. Hanoks were first designed and built in the 14th century during the Joseon Dynasty.

Korean architecture considers the positioning of the house in relation to its surroundings, with thought given to the land and seasons. The interior of the house is also planned accordingly. This principle is called baesanimsu (Hangul: 배산임수; Hanja: 背山臨水), meaning that the ideal house is built with a mountain in the back and a river in the front. Hanok shapes differ by region. In the cold northern regions of Korea, hanoks are built in a square with a courtyard in the middle in order to retain heat better. In the south, hanoks are more open and L-shaped.

Omg ! I always love Hanok Houses. It’s unique and has it’s own story. That’s one of reasons why i have been to Bukchon Hanok Village for 3 times..haha. Next trip i wanna go to Eunpyeong Hanok and Jeonju Hanok Village.

I would like to introduce Korea's unique traditional architecture design. Hanok does not use nails, but it uses natural materials as wood. The heating method is changing to floor heating worldwide, and Korea has already used the floor heating method of hanok for hundreds of years. I think it is a very proud material to apply Korea's beneficial traditional method globally. I hope that Korea's traditional architectural structure will be globalized in the future, and I want to protect and develop our country's culture from other countries.

The whole house is stunning, the area is stunning and that view is breathtaking. Not to mention all the warm rich wood and the lights along the beans in the main room grabbed my attention. I am loving the kitchen with that beautiful island counter top. The only thing that gave me the shivers was the messed up towel in the bathroom. My OCD wanted to run in and fix that towel. But other than that. I would love to live in a house like this one day. There are no words to describe the beauty of it. I just have way to much stuff to find the space for it all. Oh I know, I'll build shelves, hahaha and yes the music added to the charm of it.
