Minimum size of the weld should be selected based on thickness of thicker plate, but the size of weld should not be less than thinner plate-thickness (preferably 1.5 mm less than thinner plate). If it is less then thinner plate-thickness (preferably 1.5 mm less than thinner plate) is the minimum size of the weld.
