Because of dividends, I first began investing in stocks. It's important, in my opinion, to be able to live off of dividends without selling if you invest and make other income in addition to payouts. It suggests that you may pass that down to your kids and give them a leg up in life. Over the years, I've invested over $600k in dividend stocks; I continue to buy more today and will keep doing so until the price drops even further.

Hearing from an experienced investor who has survived adversity and prevailed is always motivating. It may be frightening when your portfolio goes from green to red, but if you have invested in strong firms, you should maintain growing them and stick to your goal.

I wholeheartedly concur, which is why I appreciate giving an investment coach the power of decision-making. Given their specialized expertise and education, as well as the fact that each and every one of their skills is centered on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable developments, it is practically impossible for them to underperform. I have made over 1.5 million dollars working with an investment coach for more than two years.

I want to make a portfolio, though I do newsletter articles, I haven’t gotten hardly any results on that yet, I am terrible with websites and trying to manipulate and change them, I always have trouble importing my photo into websites from my library, and doesn’t seem to accept from any other place, I don’t have any professional photos so I tried Taking some of myself, I don’t know who I am to serve or what I am shooting for that I am qualified for which is pretty much nothing. I guess I should just try to get results online and see what happens. I just quit my job since it was bad for my mental health especially in summer so I am building stuff online and researching different subjects.

Same for me, my design skills are still pretty basic and tbh I'm not a fan of the animation overkill as a freelancer trying to draw clients who aren't designers themselves (I get it if your goal is to get hired on by a company). What I have to keep reminding myself is that I'm explicitly marketing my services towards offering websites that are intuitive for any user and don't distract with unnecessary clutter, and a simple, straightforward, but still stylized portfolio sells that imo, otherwise it's pretty easy to get down on myself watching videos like these.
@TheCladeL3 ай бұрын
Keep in mind that overly animated websites are usually terrible for accessibility, which is very important. How? Firstly, they can mess with screen readers ("ohh but blind people won't look at my portfolio" -they just might), and secondly people with cognitive issues such as motion sickness, epilepsy or ADHD might reaally dislike those (and that's quite a sizeable user group). I may sound like a killjoy, but making a simple product that serves everyone (unless it's very niche, specialized and targeted) is more important than creating a flashy, cool one. That doesn't mean you can't make it pretty and cool!

There's a problem with drag n drop builders: page speed. It becomes terrible, are not optimized, there's a lot of erros and etc. As Google is the one ranking, mostly, it definitely will separate websites which are done on those. Beware!! This is where real developers will shine, creating optimized websites which are faster and more concise.

What are your tips and tools for creating the best optimized websites?
@voaneves Жыл бұрын
@@naturallydope247 I think you should aim for straight vanilla HTML, CSS and JS or you could use some framework like NextJS, Qwik. My recomendation is the first, so you get better optimized websites. There are a lot of templates on the internet and a lot of tutorials on youtube, so that's a great starting point. Let me know if you need any resource or have any questions.

@@jwhite3389 Not all jobs are in person. I've had, and have seen others, hired just from art shared on Instagram. My most recent gigs, the people didn't know what I looked like, my age, what state I'm from, gender, or even my full name. There's a place for everyone to share their work and be hired while still feeling comfortable with the information being shared about them. Depends on your goal, skills and time. For instance, if you are unemployed and are in hurry, just get a template and put your projects there. In my case, I am employed as a developer but I needed a project to improye my frontend skills and I wasn't in a hurry. So I bought a make-portfolio-course as a base and with time as I got better even better than the instructor I rebuilt the whole thing with my own code and preferences.

@vadim_sharapov9 ай бұрын
Hi :) In my opinion, yes, you also need to know a lot about programming to use Webflow, but much less than if you wanted to build something completely from scratch. Especially when it comes to scaling, I am sure that with enough dedication, anybody can build a static website. However, when it comes to adding a blog or maybe even a small e-commerce site, that is something even some developers can struggle with, and that is where Webflow comes into play.

@maestrothundero71052 жыл бұрын
Good video, so sad that most designers can't code their own portfolios any more. IMO a designer should have the ability to at least code perfect CSS and HTML, learning the fundamentals will improve your designs and feed your imagination.
@FluxAcademy2 жыл бұрын
why is that sad?
@maestrothundero71052 жыл бұрын
@@FluxAcademy I guess, I'm just old school, I've been a designing for 13 years and when I was studying, we learned to create the design in Photoshop and then code the presentational layer, then a web developer would take care of the logic. I think that current designers are missing out on the fun and creativity that comes with building something. Not to mention it really helps your communication with developers. IMO The process of creating digital products is similar to creating a building, the designer is the architect and the developers are the builders. Look at one of the founders of modern architecture, Frank Llyod Wright, his philosophy was “learning by doing”. He founded the Taliesin school that produced the likes of John Lautner and other architectural giants. The first thing Frank Llyod Wright taught his pupils was how to construct houses, this helped them understand the materials they could use and what limitations the materials had. After that, he then taught them how to design structures. This intimate knowledge of materials feed into his student's creativity and many of those students went on to design some the most iconic buildings in history. I think web/digital/product/UX/UI designers should understand their materials as part of their knowledge base, along with layout, typography, colour, user needs, business needs etc . So, this is why I find it sad that they do not seem to learn code anymore.
@Chris.P.Bacon72 жыл бұрын
Yes it's fun to learn but coding is not for everyone. Especially if their sole focus is just graphic design
