It's a perfect match with the old buildings. I love the use of tall grasses to soften the look & add to the relaxed cottage feel of the design. You did such a phenomenal job designing & using plants that will continue to mature - making it look a bit different on each visit. That hen & chix fountain is so cute.

Bunny, I love, love your videos here in NZ. I find when you mention a month that I’m counting six months on my fingers to adjust to our southern hemisphere seasons. 😊 Your generosity with all things design and planting is appreciated and quite inspirational. I couldn’t catch the name of the first multi stemmed tree before the Cork Oaks and Cratageus at around 4 minutes and would appreciate being enlightened. Thank you in anticipation.

Love the beautiful design, space, balance and planting of the garden. Also, your palate of materials is incredible and it all work so well together Bunny. Not so sure on the metal chicken sculpture water spout. To my mind, a simple water spout in the centre of the raised circular pool, and the chicken sculpture as a feature in it own right - just looking into the pool - would work better (just my personal quirk). Absolutely love the lawned areas raised with granite sets...an ingenious way of showcasing them as something special - a feature in their own right, and maybe to be sat upon, but certainly not to be trampled over!.

Hi Bunny, I love your series, especially your design at Thyme - it’s beyond gorgeous! Can you help please? I’m in a fix and I need your advice. I’m using your baseless box containers in my own courtyard - problem is, I arrived home to boxes 42” square, not 36” - will they be alright? They look massive! My courtyard is 16’ x 22’, they are to go in each corner. I’m so upset, this is my 60th birthday present from my husband, and I feel ill ... Gratefully, Susan

Difficult to tell without seeing but when empty they can look bigger these when they have a great plant in them as this takes the focus more off the pot. Are they painted? The colour makes a big difference to the prominence of the pot. I don’t know your palette but a French grey will look softer obviously than bright white for instance. You might find the joiner could reduce the size at his cost if it’s his fault. I think though that when bedded in will look fine. Don’t forget to line the sides ( but not bottoms) with waterproof liner so the timber lasts longer. Send me a pix by email if it helps then I can give better answers. 🐇

I looks beautiful, but how is it possible to prevent that weeds grow in the gravel? And what's the latin name of the trees at 2:16 ? Is it Prunus laurocerasus? And the latin name of the multi stem trees at 3:57 ? They look so pretty. Is it Koelreuteria paniculata or rhus typhina? It looks as it has pinnate leaves, otherwise it could be amelanchier. You mentioned a word, kalmutias (?), But when I googeld it, I could not find a plant with that name.
@kulkulbelle
@kulkulbelle 4 жыл бұрын
I think they’re Koelreuteria. I asked above as I heard her say it at 4.00, however didn’t know how to spell and google.
@wiltrudfriesch6781
@wiltrudfriesch6781 4 жыл бұрын
@@kulkulbelle Thank you. Probably you are right. I watched it with English subtitles and it was written "kalmutias", but it was probably a mistake. The word "Crataegus" was also wrong in the subtitle. But it's a automatic subtitle, so mistakes can happen. And English is not my first language, that's why I didn't understand the word she said.
@kulkulbelle
@kulkulbelle 4 жыл бұрын
@@wiltrudfriesch6781 English is MY first language, but I hadn’t heard of it. 😃Koelreuteria doesn’t seem to be multi stemmed according to Dr Google.

@@kulkulbelle sometimes it has 1 stemm and sometimes multi stemms. Sometimes it looks like a shrub. In Google Pictures you can see it.
