I usedto do all this, started as machine operator and then moved to tooling, we mostly made molds out of apaxy resin and had a few aluminum water temp controled molds, for apaxy and aluminum molds without water we ran a few cheap sheets to warm it up, when you form on aluminum cold mold the part is worped like crazy, apoxy wasnt as bad when cold

I keep my molds at 180 degrees.

Copper lines can be imbedded in the mold and Save money. Just make sure you don't drill any holes through the lines

A hand held temperature tool can be used.

I'm on the receiving end of a vendor that is cutting corners to the point of drilling holes while plastic is way to hot to be machined...bad burrs and globs that I call kindle bures
