Dollar Tree Glitter Vinyl makes great glitter cardstock - just apply to white cardstock before you cut. Works great.

In my experience, Dollar Tree vinyl is good for a little big larger cut files and not so good for small, intricate cuts. I tend to use the Washi setting whenever I use Dollar Tree vinyl. The Dollar Tree glitter vinyl has definitely given me a lot of trouble when cutting small things with a lot of detail, like snowflakes for example. Cricut vinyl using same file, same settings...no problem! I do like the colors of the Dollar Tree glitter vinyl so I buy it and hope for the best. It is good for larger cuts or small, simple things like small hearts, which I have cut without any issue. I haven't seen matte vinyl at my local Dollar Tree. I wish they did have it because I prefer it over glossy too. Thanks for all the tips and suggestions! :)

I use the DT vinyl all the time to personalize gift bags, gift tags, cards and signs. Anything that will be thrown away. Just a way to add an extra touch. I use Oracal for the other projects. I don't have a cricut but, I have only seen the blue mat at my area DTs. I love this type of video and would like to see more . Thank you

I haven't cut that vinyl, but test cutting to make a custom setting would be best. I test cut all of my materials and name them all "my" whatever. I always find the perfect cuts!

Have used DT vinyl, and it works well for larger images with less detailing. I've also used the contact paper as transfer tape and have used the same pieces multiple times. I usually remove some of the stickiness by pressing it on my shirt several times before the first use. After I'm done, I store it on a sheet of freezer paper (glossy side), and it's ready for my next project. Thanks for all your tips, love the videos!

You are definitely saying mod podge correctly. Also FYI the Dollar Tree also has a scoring tool at some of their locations. The finger protectors really work and the vinyl is actually not bad at all. It just takes a little patience to get the correct cut settings. They have some really cool patterns.

I've heard that using the washi tape setting works well with the Dollar Tree Vinyl Paper. I've yet to use ours. We purchased ours, by we and ours, I am referencing our Grand Girlies, so the could practice and it was not problem if they didn't like the end result, they didn't had up or they simply changed their minds. 😂

I bought the DT scoring tool. I use it to score cards by hand as it DOES NOT fit in my Maker. I have not tried to adapt the handle to make it fit.

I love the Dollar Tree tools, I wish they had a larger scraper. The vinyl.....I can cut it on washi setting BUT I only use it for things around my house, labeling etc BUT I do not use it on anything I would sell, I definitely agree save your money & buy better vinyl. The blanks are awesome. I like their plates & bowls & cups too. We are slowly getting the plus sections here in OH but they only seem to be 2 isles here. Thanks for your videos.

FYI, that blue Joy mat actually says “Standard Grip” on the top. Even though it’s blue, it appears it may be more like the green, depending on how sticking it actually is. I also found a scoring tool and a flower shaper on my last trip.

Hi Susan! When you add permanent vinyl, you can hand wash it without the vinyl coming off. Only high heat like the dishwasher would loosen the adhesive - Dawn

I got a couple of rolls of that same vinyl. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I can't say if it works for me. Hopefully I can find a setting that works because I found a couple of really cool colors. I also got one of those Joy mats. After using it a few times it is losing its stickiness even after cleaning. I have had a piece of vinyl come loose while cutting. Maybe the trick is to clean it after every use? I found a really great t-shirt there by American Apparel. It's a tri-blend and super soft. I haven't put any HYV on it yet because I'm still trying to decide on a design. I've also gotten their adhesive squares and double sided adhesive and they are great. I will definitely be buying more.

When using rolled material I put the curve of the paper down I find I don't fight with the paper and the cutter.

I tried the contact paper as transfer tape when I first started and I honestly didn't like it so I went bought a roll of transfer tape and will do so again as I feel its so much easier to work with. I lost my no name brand type squeegee and now using the cricut and its fine for .. but I do like the grippy I see on the dollar tree one, I am in the Netherlands so won't be able to buy it but do like it. I also learnt the hard way that cheaper vinyl is not great. I also like to keep my vinyl flat not rolled ...

Washi setting for the Dollar tree vinyl with a simple design works great. Plus the blue Dollar Tree mat is compared your green Cricut standard grip mat. The blue Dollar Tree mat is not light grip, but it is a standard grip mat in blue their brand. The blue Dollar Tree mat even says standard grip mat. The blue Dollar Tree mat is great I have used mine a few times. I have bought some mats from different companies before that have different color mats that are not the colors of Cricut mats. I have some on hand now the standard grip mat colors I currently have are yellow and purple. I know it can be confusing because everyone knows the Green Mat as a standard grip but keep in mind that other companies can have different color standard grip mats or any other mats.

The scraper is sharper than the Cricut one. I've chipped the edge its thinner than the Cricut one. It also doesn't feel as sturdy. The joy mat I use for weeding instead of the big mat, also cut one down for my stamping platform. I'd be interested to see if you can sublimate on the Walmart and Dollar Tree coffee mugs.

The beefy hanes t-shirts are thicker than a normal t-shirt. It's more like a spring/fall t-shirt vs. a summer t-shirt. On the products that only save change you need to consider gas prices and how far away the other store is. If your only getting a few it may be cheaper to buy from the store you are already in.

mod pog and tacky glue are two different things, are they not? Tacky glue just glues mostly paper and mod pog is a glue and a finishing film, that gets brushed on top, decoupaging, right?

I have an older laptop that I am considering getting updated so I can use it for my Cricut. But my question is would I be better of purchasing a desktop computer or a new laptop instead? @Design Bundles , the laptop has to be upgraded in order for it to work with Cricut. According to Cricut, it needs Windows 10 or 11 for it to be compatible. This laptop has 7. And it is not working well so I have to have it looked at if I go this way.

No need to throw the DT vinyl away. Dollar Tree accepts returns. You can trade them for something else. The leather vinyl is great as well as the transfer tape.

So a year later ..DT has the standard light and strong grip mats 12*12 ...they have acrylic blank sheets (but might be for like a glowforge) and I just picked up some aileens strong glue sticks the other day
