I am a retired educator and I must tell you that I really appreciate the professionalism I see in your tutorials. I'm sure there are people who watch some of the instructional material on youtube and want to see the huge smiles and the chatter - but I think most of us are looking for information - and your channel is one of the best. I have to listen to 10 to 15 minutes of inane chatter before some of the channels get "down to business". Your channel proves that you. can appear friendly and interesting and still give clear, and concise instruction. I do SO appreciate that! You and Jennifer Maker are the absolute BEST in my book!

Your patience during the explanation of the process is perfect, Michael! You know, when Cricut machines first came out, I bought one of the 1st models, but hardly used it. I gave it away a couple of years ago to a young girl and her mother, as the daughter wanted to try it. Now, I guess I'll have to save up and buy a new one, as they (and YOU!) have inspired me to give it another try. This time, however, I'll be prepared because I've watched all your videos. Thanks again, Michael!

@pinkmosquito223 жыл бұрын
And would've had to slice again and contour the way he did the first time to get the letters back. Also probably could've just used 'align > center' on his contoured slice and welded font... I would assume that would align everything but I haven't tried it. Definitely some great suggestions! 😊

And, this video didn't even have any Santa hats on it! I watched the entire video, and I love it! I cannot wait to get my new bundle! I sent you a question on the text message group regarding this exact project, and the Cricut Air 2 vs. the Cricut Maker, and whether they will both cut this material? Will the Air 2 accommodate the knife blade and the basswood?

Here is a hack for ya- when you are trying to remove all those pesky holes from that font, try this..........make your square, send behind font, slice, then instead of moving your original font out of the way and trying to align them back up again later (that’s a pain), hide your original font. DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING, delete your center cut font. Now you can contour out the outer bits form the altered square leaving only those pesky wholes. Unhide your original font. Now you will see they are aligned up perfectly. Lastly weld them together. Try it and let me know if it worked for you with that font. I hope I explained it well. I use this method when there is too much to contour out.
