I agree! But this is usually what happens when influencers get bigger. It becomes more about what they can buy and do with money for themselves to show how successful they are. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just sad when the whole thing u loved about their channel gets lost and forgotten.

@@kelleyhawk6595while that might be true for some I don’t get that vibe from this channel….her and her family literally just bought their dream home and moved during Christmas so for 1. She’s excited 2. Her Channel is about diys so she’s literally showing diys she’s wanting to do in her home and showing us ways we can elevate our space..her Chanel has always been about giving expensive looking diys on a budget and that’s literally what this is about. 3. I’m sure with Christmas just passing and just moving into their new home she’s super busy and wanting to get their forever home how they want it so I’m sure anyone in her shoes would prioritize that over making dollar tree DIYs right now….but I’m sure those will be coming again but I’m sure right now it’s going to be about DIYs and stuff she’s doing on her house and showing us how to do it on a budget which I love and 4. People’s preferences change (not saying this about her specifically) but in general people’s preferences and styles change with time …I use to be all about farmhouse and signs with words everywhere but now I’m not a huge fan of a ton of signs with words and like more of a modern farmhouse with using a mix of antiques and the simplicity of modern/Scandinavian I guess just a less busy & overly farmhouse and a mix of a few styles …and a lot of people tend to like different styles and be into different things ..I feel like a lot of content creators naturally change over time with what they like and the style of DIYs they do and that’s totally ok….sorry i wrote a novel in the comments and hope I didn’t come off preachy haha Idk I just felt the need to share with u something maybe u didn’t think about and throw out a different perspective

@@starveartist I still love farmhouse but more of an update farmhouse with less word signs and more antique farmhouse decor but in a clean and a less is more way…I feel like 90% of the DIYs on KZbin are all of the things u listed I’m kind of excited about some newer things …but I def would still pick farmhouse shabby chic over the glam style DIYs 🙈 the ones with fake crystals and mirrors and super shiny silver and gold is prob my least fav style and I feel like that’s what a lot of the other diy channels are on here that aren’t super farmhouse or super modern

Yes Natalee can do this, stone looking concrete and colorant in the cement or paint after installing. It doesn't go with our home or style, but her house is SCREAMING for this in the tall ceiling room where a fireplace is needed for appearance sake anyway in Florida! We are in North Carolina, we have 4 fireplaces, family room, master bedroom, bonus room/play room/ library/ my female space, lol and 1 on the sunroom. Love a fireplace, all them are different and unique, 1 we half did it, the flagstone was already there, then the other 2 we part of theater ourselves, but did all of the bobuscroom ourselves and hired out for the stone work, but built the fireplace in the sunroom. This one was the most expensive one! The stone and it was kind of big too plus we added a built in on o e fide, the other side was a window.

We have 6 grandkids. For 6 years I took care of one granddaughter and 18 months later, we were blessed with another grandson! I took care of the babies, cleaned house and did All Of the laundry. I LOVED IT! It's cathartic, brings order to chaos, I loved all of the little, tiny clothes. I love it! In fact, 6 years later, I'm helping them with housework and laundry once again. It would be so nice to have a beautiful space to do laundry in! I wish our home had one, too! My husband tried putting in cupboards with counter tops. To be honest, the flooring looks terrible. The drywall job looks terrible. The paint on the drywall looks terrible. I can't tell him this as I don't want to hurt his feelings! I think it should all be torn out and start all over! He just retired, so we have the time to change it now. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can talk him into trying it again! And praying that the outcome is much better than attempt #1!🫢🤭🤫🤔🤐🤨😬

Our house had a touchless faucet when we moved in. At first it was fun and novel, but then the sensor stopped working (which Ferguson told me is common) and it wouldn't turn on at all -- you had to tap it 20 times for it to finally turn on or off. I replaced it with a regular faucet about 2 years ago don't miss it at all. Your videos are SO FUN and nicely done! Thank you for your Can-Do Spiriit!!

I am fairly new to your channel but love your videos, talent, creativity, taste, and style! We are a lot alike in all of those ways..it makes me wish I could just sit down with you and we could share tons of ideas. Our family of 5 lost our forever home on 1/7/21 to a house fire…thank the good Lord we all, including pets, made it out safe. (Our cat did have to be rescued and after a firefighter busted out my son’s upstairs bedroom window he jumped out…paws, tail, ears burned, whiskers singed) did have to spend the night at the animal hospital but he recovered very well!). We spent the next year and a half divided into two campers on our property while we rebuilt our home. I’ll just say it’s been tremendously overwhelming! We moved in before a few things were complete because being stuffed into those campers was a nightmare! Our home is everything we could want and then some..but would be better if we could tie up several loose ends….which brings me to think about the seating you’re loving for your breakfast nook. Don’t get me wrong..I completely understand when you’re in love with and dead set on an idea…and if you do it, you may love it! I know that’s the seating we had in one of the campers..and yes, space was extremely limited…but never the less…extremely not functional at all! I am with you on a round table…I think they’re more personal..especially for a breakfast nook. I’ve always had a round table..we have an oval now because with kids getting older and meeting significant others…needing more space to sit. Your fireplace in the living room/great room is tall like mine. I chose a very timeless large stone that has hues of very light grays, pale tans, and off whites…and a brick veneer accent. Maybe in the recessed areas of yours, brick veneers would look beautiful and timeless! When I saw your back porch area and your fireplace idea, I immediately thought of a built-in (like you’re talking about, floor to ceiling)…but instead of corner, what about the kind that has not only the glass front, but the glass side..it would give almost a wrap around/see through kind of appearance. Also, I have a Kohler touchless faucet in my kitchen and in my laundry room which is right off my bedroom/closet and the garage. I will say that’s one of the best investments in this house with messy hands for whatever reason…very nice and convenient! I’m like you and am in love with animal print. I have touches of it all through most of my house. I haven’t finished decorating my downstairs 1/2 bath yet but I have things bought to finish it. On the wall with the sink, I have bought a blackish/gray crocodile print wallpaper (that is textured) that we ordered from Home Depot. I can’t wait to see it and the sconce lights and everything finished. But that would be beautiful in your laundry room too on an accent wall..and maybe some shiplap. I love shiplap and I think it’s way too stereotyped to the “farmhouse” look. To me it can be combined with several different looks…I personally love and go between French country and British tropical Colonial …which brings in the animal prints and plants. I have two Birds of Paradise (they would look beautiful in your home too) and two palm plants on either side of my fireplace in tall Planters). Sorry this was so long..I know your home will be beautiful! I can’t wait to see what you do😍

As for the laundry room, go for it. It will make a huge difference for your mental state. Make sure you add a hanging area to it besides closed cabinets. @shelleysavoy7353 Yes, that is totally accurate. Your room, as a growing child, is how you develop ....in so many ways! Even splitting one room up between three children with bunk beds, would be better than a guest room.; atleast, they all would be equal. In college, my roommates creatively put their mattresses and dressers in ways in which everyone had a private place. Looking back, their room rocked!

One consideration before you install all the molding: caulking it may be tedious, but it's a one time thing. DUSTING, however, needs to be done all the time. Wiping down all the molding all the time is necessary if you want it to look good, and it's sort of a pain. It seems to collect visible dust easily. (We change our furnace filters regularly, too.) Take it from someone who has a lot of white and pale colored walls with molding!

Vertical blinds are so 90’s and look cheap even though they’re expensive to purchase. I love doing laundry. I can do it at 6 am or 11 pm. I only put my clothes and towels and sheets away, my husband has to put his clothing away. My laundry room is off of the master bedroom so no biggie for me. The professional flooring designer I worked with recommended carpeted stairs for safety. She said many of her customers who insisted on wood came back for carpet after a family member or a pet had a bad fall. She helped me choose a subtle pattern that blends with the wood floors but has enough contrast to be a visual safety feature. Since this is your forever home, you might look into other “aging in place” features. Take a look at smart sliding panels to replace the vertical blinds. Functional and beautiful. You can also retrofit curtain rods with smart controllers.

Countertops!!!!!!! We renovated our 1963 home with 1980s upgrades over several years with the intention of selling. Ir was done with a LOT of sweat equity and help from a contractor friend. The countertops in the kitchen were vintage 1963 bright lime green !!!!! We ended up using poured epoxy from Stonecoat Countertops and they were gorgeous looking Carrera marble when we were done….for a fraction of the cost!!!!!! It really was easy…. There’s just a LOT of prep work. Not terrible… just a bit tedious but a must. I’m so glad we did because it can get messy. …. Put plastic bags over your shoes and be sure to put lots of plastic sheeting down AND that rolled paper over the top for a walkway. We are going to do it again in our next home! It really was easy peasy! There are so many wonderful instructional videos out there and on that site. The possibilities are endless… oh, and instead of tiling the backsplash we opted for a slab that we cut and fit beforehand (remember to make it a fraction smaller to fit after pouring epoxy) and glued to the wall. Very sleek and modern! Hope you give it a whirl!

Touchless faucets are like touchless soap dispensers or paper towel dispensers, which we have in the bathroom at work. They only turn on motion closeup. With the faucet some will run for a certain amount of time; like 15 seconds. Then you need to wave in front of the eye where the motion sensor is again.

We are building a new home and my laundry room is in the same room as my master closet. The reason is that in our last house, my husband had clothes in 2 closets and what he wore for each season stayed on shelves and hanging in the laundry room. It is so much less of a chore when you can fold it right out of the dryer and not have to go somewhere else to put it away. So for this house the back door leads into a mudroom (we live on a farm) that connects to our bathroom, to the laundry room/closet, and into the main bedroom. I designed it this way to minimize messes in the house and not have to take folded laundry anywhere. I am so excited.

This comment will probably be well received, but - as a long time subscriber, I really loved your previous home, which you decorated so well, and it had a cozy vibe. The new home reminds me of a museum wth the offputting large/ high walls and spaces. I can hear the echos as you speak.😢

Touch faucets - have one in my kitchen. Love it! It runs on a battery pack that is tucked into the cabinet below. Lasts about two years before having to change the six C batteries. It is programmed to run only for so long so it does have an auto shutoff. I have had no issues with the touch faucet and have owned it over five years.

You can buy flexible molding to match your picture frame molding for your house. We used a capsize type molding and were able to find flexible molding for our arches. It painted well and you can't tell it isn't wood.

When I built my house 23 years ago, I had builtins put in the master bedroom and my son’s room. I also had them put in the family room. I still love them today and they still look up to date. I also had bench seating built for my kitchen and then had a custom table built for the space. (a local artist made the base of the table out of wrought iron and then another built the wooden top). I love it! The only thing I have updated are the cushions and pillows. I like a clean non-cluttered look and the builtins provide that. I can’t wait to see what you do!!

My niece has the touchless kitchen faucet. She loves it! She finds that it uses less water. Because she can easily turn it off with a quick wave of the hand. I love the idea for the bedroom fan replacement. Sending the hubs to a big box home building store today! We had a home that we had the niche removed. What a difference it made! I am excited to see you paint cabinets and redo the laundry room. We bought a house last year that was 90% newly remodeled. The downstairs guest bathroom and the laundry room are yet to be remodeled. Thank the good Lord that I retired last year! 😂

NataLee, your new home is going to be fabulous when you get done with it... it's pretty gorgeous even as is! You have great ideas, and I am excited to watch along as your make changes to your beautiful forever home. You asked about the touchless faucets. I have one in my kitchen and I love it. When you are cooking and have ick all over your hands, there's no need to touch the handles. Don't worry about it accidentally getting turned on and flooding your kitchen or wasting too much water. After a certain period of time (I have never actually timed it), it will automatically turn off. My kitty likes to sit up in the window sill and look outside. She swishes her tail in front of the faucet and turns the water on. I usually hear it and turn it off, but I know that if she did it when we were not home, the water would automatically shut off. I guess whoever designed them never factored in cats living in the home! LOL!

Sorry for the late response. I love my Kohler touchless kitchen faucet. I put this in about 4 years ago and have had absolutely no issues with it. Mine is the style where you run your hand underneath triggering the sensor. It will stay on until you run your hand underneath again, but it does have an auto shut off after about 3 minutes. This is especially handy when baking or cooking and your hands are sticky or gooey, etc. It is one of those items I would not go without. If it breaks, I will replace it, or if I move, I would make sure my new house has one. The funny part is, it is muscle memory at this point. I go to friends homes or family member’s homes and I can be seen waving my hand under their faucet. I’m sure they wonder what the heck I’m doing. I then remember I actually have to use a lever to make the water come out. It’s then, I am reaffirmed of how much I love my touchless faucet and it should be the standard in every kitchen! Love you and your videos! Keep them coming!❤

Yes, NEC states that a chandelier must be 8’ from top deck of your tub. However as a home owner, you can do what you want. The thought behind the rule is they don’t want you standing in the tub full of water changing the light bulb. You can’t stop stupid, hang your chandelier the way you want.

I’m looking forward to seeing all your upgrades to your new home. As for the touch-less faucet, the one I had stopped working and I had to trade it for a regular faucet. As for the spotted paint look on your walls. Most likely it’s the correct color, but as painted walls are exposed to the elements the color changes. When touching up a wall the entire wall should be painted in order to avoid a spotty look.

Looking forward to all the progress you make... I share your appreciation for elegant animal print... sounds like you have some great ideas to bring your home decor up to your standards. And the good thing is you don’t have to do it all at once, giving you more time to ponder what you like best and to afford better quality elements. As far as doing laundry... I’ll take that over dishes, pots, and pans any day...

Our son has a touchless faucet in their kitchen. They turn on the water and leave it on. When they touch it the water comes out, then touch it again and the water flow stops. Really a cool feature. You deserve to have one of these. They would also be great in the bathroom. Loving your new home and can't wait to see all the improvements. Terri

We have had several of these touch faucets in our kitchen and they both went out within a few years, not worth the money. We have gone back to a regular faucet. Our plumber says he has replaced lots of these faucets with regular ones. Save your money.

I inherited a mid century house on 1 acre of landscape property. We added $100,000 of renovations such as new lighting, paint, drapes, wainscoting, hardwood floors etc. Our house is now worth $520,000 but after watching your channel we had contractors think this house is worth $2 million. We also use nice art to elevate the space.

I LOVE my touchless faucet. I've had it for 5 years. Super easy, it has a battery pack that is attached under the sink and I've only had to replace the batteries twice. The water will run for 3 minutes and turn off automatically unless you turn it off before then. It has definitely been a game changer in my kitchen! I think you will love it too.

Hello, I some how came accross your channel I think it's been a little over a year and I love it. I first saw a home you were going to rent. I really liked how you rearrange it for a more practical use. To be quite honest you can lift up my spirits with you Colgate smile. No matter if things don't work out, you move forward with a smile. That in itself is a gift you give to us. And now I you have this big Beautiful home that God has blessed you with. I am so excited to see how you Decorate it. You mentioned that you bought some tape for your rod, for your curtains. Let me say, I have been using Tape on my curtain rods for a long time. To be honest, sometimes it works. The curtains will just glide, and at times the curtains STILL get stuck... perhaps you will show us a different way to adhere the tape, or perhaps you have a different tape. I am excited to watch all your shows. Thank you so much for inviting us into your home. God bless you 🙏

As far as your pantry goes in your kitchen, I love the idea of glass plated doors.. then you can put those pretty little brass railings across the shelves which when you look through the glass you will see the little brass railing across first. I think that would just be lovely! I love built-ins in houses, as well. My grandmother has these in her house that she's been in forever, it seems like. They are definitely a classy look. Thank you for sharing your ideas on here. I have been enjoying watching your videos. God bless you!
