2015-2021 Honda Pioneer Heat Control

2015 thru 2021 Honda Pioneer UTV's can get hot out on the trails. The engine is so close the the back and bottom of the seat, it can get down right scorching! We have come up with three easy solutions to make your Pioneer as cool and comfortable as you expect it to be. A front under seat heat shield kit, a fan kit to expel hot air from the engine compartment and a rear foot well heat shield kit.

I just got some double bubble metal building insulation. Cut to fit under seat , behind backrest and under the plastic peace between them..used 3m super 77 adhesive spray to stick it on ...worked awsome!! Solved the hot seat problem ...did a45 mile dirt road ride last Saturday...seat was cool to the touch the entire ride.

How does this kit work against the steam? In alaska when it's colder and you hit a puddle it streams the whole inside and i have an enclosed cab so it fogs up all the windows and windshield.

Just to point out, people like me wouldn’t use this. This being kinda of a Honda error works great for me in a enclosed box providing heat. I’m in Alaska and the summer temps are 55 degrees is which why I choose a side by side over ATV so I can be enclosed. Once negative temperatures hit outside I need the full heat. In -40 it’s amazing how much heat doesn’t feel hot

We also have an auxiliary fan kit for the Pioneer. We've had some customers tell us that they re-routed their hose to vent to the cabin to help heat the cabin in colder environments.

Only problem is this factory FIX!!! Is just a little bandaid on what many consider a big issue. Had it installed on my 3 seater and I honestly couldn't tell much difference. To really fix this problem takes more than a few more rubber pieces under the seat. MONEY, MONEY, MONEY!!! If enough of you guys and gals take time to actually call Honda and express your concerns they may, and I repeat MAY, actually authorize a honest fix. Gauranteed this won't happen unless all of you let them know about your displeasure. I live in northern Idaho where temperatures are cool. I can't even imagine trying to enjoy one of these machines down in the south or western desert areas. Get on the phone!!!

Seen someone put a two way fan under the seat. Would pull heat in when its cold outside. And push air across the motor when hot. The port in cab was down by the feet. Nit sure how that would work in deep water

everyone talking about heat.. I have no issues with my Honda 1000 giving off heat. everything is great. must be a down south issue with the heat. .. but good products in the video

I don't know about Honda, but on the Polaris Ranger in the summer the middle seat would get hot, so I am sure it is the same with Honda. I still would like to buy a Honda !

Thats just a bilge blower from walmart. I have the same one on my boat. I don't see how that will stand up to mud or water at all. Just get an under seat heatsheild from ebay for 20 bucks and ride on. I do all day runs at windrock all the time. It doesn't get that hot. I have a full 3/16 aluminum skidplate with no holes on the bottom as well. They get warm for sure but its really not bad. My kids never complain riding in the back.

@DEI - Can you install the heat shield without the fan or is it necessary to move the air out now that the insulation won't allow it to rise into the seats and footwell? thanks -Casey

Yes! The kit is able to be installed without the fan. The fan is usually very popular in the extreme heat situations.

All of the cooling products will work well and hold up when covered with mud.

What temperature is a good default for the Thermostat setting that will activate the fan once it hits that temp? Thanks

We recommend starting with the lowest possible setting, 150°F.

Curious, why are you guys not wrapping the manifold/downpipe as well? You guys make header wrap so it seems like that would be another layer of heat protection. Is it because it's gonna get wet?

Yes it could definately be used. It woud reduce the temps in the engine compartment. The wrap is a little more difficult to install than the heat shields and from our testing the shield and the fan its showed a big reduction ont he passenger compartment heat so we didn't feel it was a neccesary step. It couldn't hurt though. But If it was to get wet, the heat from the pipe dries it after it is shut off so it woudn't create any issue of moisture or degridation of the metal from water sitting on it.

Unfortunately we do not have an ETA for that. We have not received any type of complaints with that new model, so it has not been a priority to find one & bring it in for R&D.

It's too hot really. I live in the Sonoran desert Arizona back in the 80s hardly any cars had working air-conditioning but it did not stop you from every day life and driving in the middle of the summer with the windows down I see no problem with this rig.

What about access for utilizing the storage area under the front seat?

The model we used was a Pioneer 1000-5 and that did not have any storage under the seat at all. Was it a different model that has that storage?

The LE comes factory with the accessory storage box installed. Honestly though, if storage is that much of an issue, buy a pouch rack for the cage and let it run. I would rather have no heat over underseat storage.

Again, the Pioneer 1000 does not come with the storage box under the driver seat from the factory. it's an accessory that Honda offers. The only one that comes factory with the storage is the new LE models.

Gotcha, I see what you mean. The heat shield will/can lift up with the seat bottom so it should not obstruct any storage areas at all.

My 2020 is so hot the center seat belt metal will burn you if your not careful. Going to have to install $400.00 worth of heat control to fix a Honda design Problem

@@RanchWallaWalla honda is lauded as a major car manufacturer. Yet this is something testing and quality control should easily catch and fix. If honda sxs even has one. Especially considering they had this problem over 2 years ago absolutely no excuses.

That poor Honda motor is really going to cook now . That fan and conduit should be going up not down , then when it’s cold you can use a already good heat source ... Keep the mud and water under the skid plate please and thanks

Just a bit of constructive criticism, but before you get into the explanation of "How" to do what the video is about, you should first show what the project is attempting to accomplish. I watched this video from the beginning, and I couldn't understand what you were trying to do with the ducting tubing and flanges and "fan exit", and "holes in the floor", etc. and it just wasn't making much sense to the viewer that has not seen this before. Once someone can see the completed project, the explanation of how it was done makes sense.
