I have the Celine belt and I love it, however, I find the metal quite sensitive. I wore a leather bag cross body and the belt buckle got so scratched by the bag zipper that I had to get the buckle replaced at Celine (at my own cost). Thoughtless of me maybe but it really didn’t cross my mind. Needless to say, I’m not wearing a cross body bag together with that belt anymore…

That's great! My SA did not even suggest reparations, instead he suggested I buy a new replacement belt buckle for 180 USD...

@@yuyubunnii that’s what I had to do unfortunately. I paid 200 AUD so that’s a bit cheaper than the ‘offer’ your SA gave you. It was sent off abroad for repair and came back in about 4 weeks.

@@lenawoodrow I suggest Just get it to a gold plating specialist (electroplating) and it will last decades. This replacement game they are playing at is on the nose, plus they get you to PAY for it? On top of the retail price? Highway robbery! Why are we so compliant about this?

Great info, Vee! I have toyed with the idea of the Lecce belt as I think I'd enjoy styling it but I've found I reach for my designer belts (all Ferragamo) less than I used to so I haven't bit the bullet yet!

Hi lovely, I just happened upon your video and wanted to let you know that I do have the Celine belt but haven’t tried it on that yet so can’t comment but on others that I have and on hardware that is on my bags etc I actually use a jewellers rouge cloth very lightly to get tarnish and smooth scratches out. It has made a huge difference but I wouldn’t recommend doing it too often and I would test it first as some metals are lightly coated. I think it would work well on your GG buckle and with the Loewe as that comes off I would try soaking it in hot soapy water as that removes tarnish from most fashion jewelry 😊

Great video thanks! A question on the Marant belt, with the bow, do you find it adds bulk to the waist if you wear it with a dress/skirt? (I assume you can't wear with trousers?)

It does add bulk but I think I’m more conscious of it because I’m petite. It looks great when taller folk wear the belt with trousers!

Hi Sophie, I first bought the lecce back in 2020 and hated its bulky look and returned- btw I’m thin as a stick so bulk is something I usually don’t worry about. However I couldn’t stop thinking about it and last year gave it another try. Now I have 3 of them- black, camel and suede and wear with dresses, skirts and jeans and just looove it. I guess you need to try and see how you feel about it 😊 Just a side note, the price went up for 1/3 since the first time I had it in my hands 🙈 Now it’s even higher than last year…

i'd recommend getting the right size so you can wear it with your denim as opposed to sizing up. I have the size S in the Isabel Marant belt.

The first is Gucci, why did I guess this? The Isabel Marant is the most flexible and versatile. The Celine Triomphe is so overhyped, especially considering it is not actually gold-plated. TBH I'm utterly unimpressed by the wearing-down of the coating of metal on these belts from normal use. Even when carefully stored. It's not tarnishing from a breakdown in the actual materials such as oxidation. No, these belts were once gold plated and sneakily these days they are just coating them with 'gold tone' which is a meaningless term. That's not luxury really is it? Luxury was once equated with quality and longevity. To recover from this, because it dissembles you can end up getting the Loewe gold-plated. Just take it to a plating specialist. That way it will hold its value. At least Hermès has proper gold plating or palladium plating so if anything I'm tended towards that house. In line with your recent usage, the Isabel Marant is hands down the best value for money. Those worn out metals cannot be disguised. Why are we not outraged at this cheapness by the fashion houses? It's pretty outrageous really...

The leather is fine, it’s just the hardware that’s not as great as the others. It’s still a beautiful design though :)

How did you handle the marks on the Celine belt? I literally bought my belt 3 days ago and there are already little scratches or marks. I don't know how to remove this!

I think you can buff these out with a jewellery cloth - though I haven't done this yet, and I've found the marks come and go with wear.

I had the loweve belt in the thinnest model. Do not recommend it. The leather was nice but the buckle was so tiny. Yours is thicker and def bigger. I wouldn’t recommend. The leather is nice tho

i love the look of the thinner belts but my experience with the thicker one has put me off them altogether. i'm not surprised to hear that's been your experience. but i agree - the leather is nice.

it does add some bulk, but that doesn't stop me wearing it with a dress/skirt or trousers. i do tend to wear it with similar dark tones just to add a bit of texture
