I love the empire screen, so beautiful. Thanks for taking us along. Nice to see Curtis and Amelia. I went to Florence many years ago and there was a house not far from the bridge with a beautiful wisteria, looked very old.

Very exciting. ❤ Interesting that the owners want to restore flooring but lean towards modern. Can't wait! I see you bringing lightness through the furnishings complimenting the "bones". Aw, Curtis ans Amelia ❤

Beautiful house! I would take inspiration from the house, and bring it back to a more original style inside. Use Palazzo as the keyword 😊

I work with inspirational pieces. Could be a pillow, a piece of fabric, a chair, or even a color palette. This is so exciting because the bones are incredible. Watching with interest.

Thank you! I’m the same…sometimes it starts with a piece of fabric or a painting…but it is also all about what the client wants! 🏰💖

What a wonderful challenge....I am obsessed with mixing old and new, the only thing all seating needs to be the same height so people can sit comfortably and be on the same level. You are so charming. A lovely episode!

Lovely to see Curtis again and the beautiful antique shop with stunning special pieces - The villa is gorgeous, high walls might need gobelins or modern fine hanging carpets, mirrors to enlarge rooms, columns, high and small cabinets - what is used in other villas (inspirations) - in US they might have a waterfall down the staircase (behind glass)🙂you are the best with best ideas ❤👍

One thing I noticed in the villa aside from the high ceilings and their dire need of paintings and chandeliers was they have little decorative artsy fartsy stuff..it is rather square and lacking in ornament, if you throw in mid-century BS it'll be cold and austere, make the sofa's and chairs have rounded arms, like a chesterfield sofa round armrest...so you can have the mid-century furniture as long as it's rounded arms then throw in a few statement pieces like a William and Mary winged back chair that's covered in needlepoint or cross stitch or even a gorgeous brocade from that famous shop in Venezia....the rounded arms will soften the harcher edges of the mid-sentury and those huge rooms lacking paneling and mouldings...that entrance is large enough you could throw in Gothic Revival coat rack with those little hooks for hats too and a reserve for umbrellas...then opposing it a chinese commode in vibrant RED...speaking of red, every famous home of celebrated interior design has a red room...I always look at Diana Vreeland's "Garden in Hell" living room and Victor Hugo's Salon Rouge on Ile de Guernsey (or is it Jersey???) for inspiration, and of course Stephanie Jarvis red chinoiserie wallpaper for ideas that can lead me down rabbit holes in my research on the internet that last until the wee hours of the morning....

Vivian, ask Stephanie to introduce you to Ollie. He and his wife are redoing a palazzo. They have found lots of things that may be of interest to you.

Wow, what a beautiful Palazzo, and what a great project. A few ideas: the two bathrooms with the beautiful old mosaics I would keep as much of the mosaic tiles as possible and would add a bit of of golden Bisazza Mosaics and of course exchange all tubs, vanities, toilets. I did not see the floors, if possible I would put floor heating in, if not possible because of the beautiful tiles I would definitely choose the most modern flat (seemless) radiators through the house. Seeing the sky light in the staircase reminds me of a house I saw in NYC where they put in some pink glass which spreads a beautiful light and atmosphere through the entire stair case. In order not to make that too expensive one could apply colored foil. Definitely get rid of the blueish carpets and the cast iron of the banister should be left black. In some rooms e.g. salon you could work with wall papers that look like old frescos. I would love to visit you and exchange ideas my mind is already galopping…..😊

What a challenge! The walls and ceilings scream for paint and other fixings. I would make the bones classic and then do furnishings/lamps etc in more modern and mid c designs. Just me tho. Good luck and can't wait to see how this evolves.

Vivienne cannot wait to see the progress on the Palazzo in Florence, will you be showing the refurbished progress on your vlog or will it be a separate site?
