Is there any way to assign Camber to a steel beam in RISA3D? I am modeling a cantilever beam, and i would like to assign camber to the free end of the beam. How can i do this in RISA3D?

Unfortunately, not directly. You could in theory apply a nodal load/displacement to simulate this (risa.com/risahelp/risa3d/Content/3D_2D_Only_Topics/Loads%20-%20Joint%20Force_Displacement.htm) but camber is mainly available in RISAFloor or RISACalc.

Why did you put a -1 factor for the DL case but not in the LL case. And in the load application part why did you put -4 kips? Isn't it supposed to be just 4 kips because you already put a -1 factor in the load case?

-1 factor accounts for deadweight of modelled elements (Mind that the columns says "gravity"). That's why you just put it on DL basic case. If you put it into the LL case, you woudl be considering the selfweight of elements twice. It also explains why the load was applied as -4kips: the -1 value accounts for gravity loads only (ie selfweight)

Excellent Summary- The tutorial was frusterating. I think it missed a few steps.
