Thank you for making a video that doesn't have any cussing or anything inappropriate so that I can use a video in class at our school. :) It is good for students to be able to view the process. Thank you!!!

I just found my chaos bunnies vinyl figures in storage and luckily found this video. Your chaos bunnies quality is through the roof compared to other Similar vinyl figures and the design… top notch!

Very nicely done. You are in inspiration to my 6, 7 & 7 year old children who are just beginning to digitally/graphically design and build their future. Peace.

Can we ever expect a series 2 of these Chaos minis? You have a lot of really neat bunny ideas written down on that list, and some that made it to sketches even, that I would gladly try and collect. I discovered your work from another youtube channel that did some blind boxes, and I have since fallen in love with it.

@joeledbetter-Thanks for sharing the process Joe! I was wondering, if you don't mind answering. What paper stock (lbs., g/m^2, etc..) do you use for you final box construction? What kind of paint do you use? Thanks ton!

Hello joe!! Your work is awesome, but i've a doubt...why you create the specs file? Do you create the prototype and after you send to a factory? Or you create ALL figures and packaging? (I mean pantones, lines, forms)

Video is GoOd ... But an actual NARRATIVE / walk through would of been 10 times better... I am not familiar with this particular toyline ,but find it interesting ! I have found various videoes out of the vinyl making process and walk through from Japan to be very interesting! Maybe someday you could do a more broken down walk through of these process from start to finish in various videoes ... Thank you

Hello, great video, saw your instructable as well. I have a question. I'm not really a toy designer, but I have made some cast art objects, some what similar to vinyl toys. I want to start doing larger series with unique arty graphics on cast 3D objects, but I don't want to hand paint each one. How exactly could someone do this? Are vinyl toy graphics silk screened onto the 3D surfaces? Trying to figure the easiest way to mass paint 50-300 cast 3D objects. Any ideas?

Are there every toys hand-painted?
@JoeLedbetterArt10 жыл бұрын
Only the prototypes are hand-painted, while in production the factory will use spray masking techniques and pad-printing techniques to replicate the prototypes based on the digital/vector artwork i have provided them with.
@grisha416710 жыл бұрын
thanks! and one more question, how do you make first prototypes? i mean this step before scetch at paper and vinyl toy. do you make figures of something like clay or do you make 3d models? or you just send this four basic projections to someone who make the model?
@JoeLedbetterArt10 жыл бұрын
grisha grisha For me, its all done by hand in 2D sketches where i make turnarounds (front, left side, right side, top, bottom angles) and figure that all out. Some people do rough sculpts first - i have in the past as well - but it all depends on what medium you're most comfortable working/brainstorming with. From the sketches i then i scan them in and perfect them in adobe illustrator.

what 3d printer is used to do this ? does anyone one know ?
@JoeLedbetterArt10 жыл бұрын
Hi Jesus, These figures are hand sculpted. I find its much easier, faster and more flexible than 3D programs and 3D printing. Not quite a fan (yet) of 3D printing when it comes to my work. Thanks -Joe
@dyrdek201110 жыл бұрын
Joe Ledbetter i agree i got in to doing custom viynl stuff after seeing your chaos bunny range i use munnys and also mad*l figures but i use millput or super sculpy and tend to mutalate the munnys and mad*l's and add crazy features to them and 3d printrs are for cheaters lol tho i guess they could come in handy for some parts i guess but the cost of the printers is crazy i prefer getting hands dirty with putty and clay and paint more fun plus i av recently orderd chaos minis box set pack cant wate to check them out when they arrive
