Designing an Airport Lounge Chair

A video showing the design process behind our Airport Lounge Chair. As you can see it is an interaction between the designer (me), the client and the manufacturer. We went through many alterations, but the chair is now ready for production.
You can also see a glimpse of a booth-type seating and a high stool that we designed, some adjustments are still needed for those.

I wish the same attention to detail was applied to the standard airport chairs everyone else uses. I tend to grade an airport of this detail. Basically if the row of seating makes it impossible to sleep on in our traveling jet lagged state of mind, I place a low score. Typically I see this style of design in American airports where arm rests place more importance. I seem to remember in London the seating much more friendly to the tired world travelers. It would be interested to expand on this idea of the sleepy lonely traveler. What if the design could be enhances to when one is sleeping their personal items could be secured.
