Hi Whitney, l love the dress you're wearing it is so pretty on you and of course the color is on point. I am considering getting my colors done, because I have so much fabric, and so many colors, that there's too many colors to choose from. Your color palette is nice, and when you make outfits they look good on you because you are able to go into your stash or buy from fabric stores in exactly what you need, l think that makes perfect sense.Thank You Whitney for always teaching and sharing your videos with us all. ❤️🤗

Hey Whitney great video! I told my husband that I was going to be more purposeful with my sewing this season. I am part of Gertie's patreon and looking to make a pair of vintage inspired pj's. Sewing some wide leg pants now. Probably more of lounge wear since I work from home. I like to be put together but need some comfort so I am with you! Also don't want to lounge frumpy! Busy yesterday with eye appointment. Finally got my reading portion of glasses right. All finished with cataract surgeries and all follow ups. Just finished pants muslin with lots of notes. Getting ready this evening to get started on them. Already thinking of different tops & skirts to go with everything.

Loved the video. I too am trying to do the Design your wardrobe, but typical life…. Anyway I am going on a Trans Atlantic cruise in November. 4 days in Rome then onto the ship and stops in Sardinia, Malaga, Casablanca, Madeira and Tenerife. I am panicking about the weather, it should be mostly low 20s. I am not trying for a carry on- No Way, but I would like a sortve capsule wardrobe. Since starting to watch you about 3 or 4 years ago my stash has exploded. Shame on you for leading me down this rabbit hole😂😂. I love an animal print, and they r Back in style. So i gout out all my animal ( mostly sortve leopard prints) and the solids that go with them and they r tossed over the bed in the spare bedroom. Hope no one wants to visit😂. I am now trying to plan from there. I think this is sortve backwards, but I have to start using the stash. One of my fears is that the weather will be unseasonably warm, or cold. Last year we went to Minneapolis in early Oct for a Celebration of Life. I assumed we would have sortve fall weather, it was in the 90s. As a plus size lady I can find clothes in North America, if I have to, but Europe is a whole other kettle of fish. Anyway I think I am ready. Hopefully I will figure out how to tag you, if and when I post pics. Keep the videos coming👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

This is so exciting! I can't wait to see what you end up creating! I think starting with your stash is a great idea. While I picked my color palette first, because I buy in my palette, it made shopping the stash really easy. Like you, I NEED to use up my stash first. As far the weather, I think I would plan for layers so that you can take off or add on as needed for the weather. I can't wait to see what you end up doing!

love your plans and your colours , mine are similar i think (Spring) but not as extensive so you inspire me to extend myself - i would love to see you try the Martha Dress by Dhurata Davies - it is a little boho, and a lot of style! Simple/quick make but ooh so effective however , i think the bodice may need a FBA. I think its also a good all year round dress if you have the right fabric😊

I'm loving the colours that you've picked up for this coming season. I actually feel in a really good place with my wardrobe at the moment and am not doing much sewing for this autumn/winter. I am making a dress and the Freya top for my daughter. For myself, I'm leaning towards making more solids with added interest. So I'm going to make a Tilly and the Buttons Marnie dress in a chestnut colour linen viscose fabric. I'm also planning on making my first coat 😊

I love the introduction of purple! 💜 I wear an autumn palette and have a lot of brown/olive/rust/mustard but I have a number of purple fabrics that I want to sew up. I haven't sewn them though because it feels like I'd need a second parallel capsule that would work with the purples 🤔🤔🤔 hmmmm need to explore this. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Try the yellow Dawn ultra EZ-Squeeze +OXI, Superior Stain Fighting Power, Lemon Scent dish washing liquid on your shirt and blazer. It removes both grease and fruit juice (which tomato is) stains. I removed set-in blackberry stains from a year ago (that nothing removes), and old coffee stains with it.

Hopefully, it will arrive in my mailbox soon. I need to replace 90% of my autumn/winter wardrobe because of weight loss; ideally, I want to sew an entire new wardrobe in my vibrant autumn palette (a girl can dream, right?) I've dyed a cardigan today from pale grey to olive green and it worked out well. But I will go through every item in the closet and, like you, will decide what I truly need to make and go from there. I am doing Seamwork's DYW for the first time and it has been an epiphany for me! Watching your video was like ticking off a checklist...it was like "yep, I did that; I did that too" 😊 and your criteria was very similar to what I arrived at. While my pallette is not the crayon box (I love that, BTW), I have come up with a plan that feels so me, and I'm excited to get sewing on it. Thank you for sharing your journey. Every new sewing season gets me excited for the new patterns and fabrics but I am hardly able to carry out of my dreams due to Real Life. I have to work hard to keep a lid on my hopes and be realistic about what I can do, which is Not Fun but necessary to keep from feeling bad about the patterns and fabric I hoped to sew but which will now wait at least another year - or more - to get made up, and be happy for the few things I do get done - my reach exceeds my grasp, as they say!

I had some tomato sauce e success on my little's shirt by spraying extra strength oxy-clean on it and forgetting about it for 4 or 5 days. When I finally remembered and washed it, the stain came out. That was my second attempt at getting it out, so if it's already potentially ruined, that might be worth trying.
