yeah, its a good way to plan where to place colors, or if a color will look good with another color, etc. Its also a great tool for artists to show their clients (like brides) on the ideas you have.

Honesty.... U have the BEST tutorials!! So informative, detailed , and professional. You're awesome!

Great suggestion Erin! I do that too when I dont use my fixative spray, and it does keep the lashes and lips sealed.
@EnKoreMakeup16 жыл бұрын
I do face charts to show clients a design I have in mind for their event prior to any trials or the actual event itself. Its also a good way to see if a combination of colors works in a look and placement of colors prior to applying it to a face.
@EnKoreMakeup17 жыл бұрын
sure it is, but if you are a budding makeup artist, it is the best way to show a design proposal to a client, like brides and such. And a lot of people like doing charts and make a book of it to show friends and such.

You can ask around the different makeup counters at a department store. MAC stores and counter have them, and sometimes theyre generous to give you a few.
@EnKoreMakeup17 жыл бұрын
depends on the design you do. And how neat and clean you want it to look. I have charts that took 15 minutes and have fancier /elaborate ones that took over an hour. I use Grumbacher Final Fixative Matte on ALL my face Charts. You can get those at Crafts Stores.
@EnKoreMakeup15 жыл бұрын
Yes, what I do is I use a dark tone bronzer and change to face complexion on the chart. So if I am presenting the chart to a tanned client, I usually make the face part tanner, etc.

Koren, I think you have a video for every possible thing I could think of. Thank you for being among the best beauty gurus!!!

something with lots of texture, like watercolor paper, or acrylic media paper. The grooves/texture on paper holds the makeup a lot more than smooth papers do.
@EnKoreMakeup16 жыл бұрын
hey sophie - you can go to mac and ask for a couple. Dior and Clinique also have their own versions of face charts. You can also got to Specktra and Pursebuzz (dot com) and on the search box, just type in face chart and you can print the face charts from there. The inks are also in the MORE INFO section of this video.

I spray mine with grumacher fixative spray that you buy from arts and craft store. It also prevents the colors from fading in the future.
@EnKoreMakeup17 жыл бұрын
you can turn upside down if that makes it easier - thats how i do it at first until i got used to. And YES - just keep doing over and over until you get the desired look.

THANK YOU! In school they were just like, "And GO!" Never exactly learned the correct way to do a face chart, thank a lot =) Lovely design!

Michael's crafts have all sorts of textured papers and such. Going to a department store and hitting the cosmetic department asking each for face charts is easier at times. Dior has nice FC's as well.

waterpaint paper is great! Textured paper holds the color in than smooth bond papers do.

You can ask for face charts from different makeup counters at a department store. Clinique, Dior they have face charts, and of course MAC. You can also find it online to print using a textured paper. Got to Specktra and Pursebuzz websites and type on the search box 'blank face chart'.

just ask the makeup counters at a deaprtments store if you can have a couple or so. Dior, Clinique, MAC etc have their own versions of face charts. You can print from the links in the INFO section, using a textured paper.

I find using a lip brush is great for chart lashing. It takes some practice, but you'll get the hang of it. Just keep practicing just doing the lashes over and over.

hey lizz - you will need to print it on textured paper like linen finish, or grainy like a watercolor paper. The makeup will not hold on regular bond printer paper.
@EnKoreMakeup16 жыл бұрын
sure, thats what I do - if they have some to spare, they wont have problems giving ya a couple. Other counters have face charts too like Dior and Clinique.

Really nice face chart! You could hang that on your wall! I have a scrapbook where I keep all my designs and inspirations. But my drawings are quick and not meant to be seen!!! In fact I have no time at all to do face charts these days! I have a whole bunch of clippings lying around in strange places!
@Ebenia17 жыл бұрын
Wow, you are so talented! This is amazing! I have always loved doing arts and I have always connected make up with arts - but now I understand that you can really "paint" with make up too and make some amazing things! It would be nice to see some other face charts that you have made. :P

hey FabPrincess - by adding dimension using colors. Like deepening the crease line, adding that creased look etc. If you can do this on 2-dimensional paper, imagine what you can do to your eye! LOL

yeah liquid liner is best, but not gel based like liquid last. Lashes are the ones that takes a lot of practice to get used to. Try using fine point Sharpie Marker to practice.

depending on where you are, you might want to check out OUTLET centers for a company called The Cosmetic Company Store - they carry some MAC stuff at discounted rate. Dont expect too much, but they have some at least.
@EnKoreMakeup16 жыл бұрын
hi jessica - nto sure what you meant by 'get the makeup to not stick or wear out/flake'. Im assuming, you mean when its designed on the paper and preventing it from fading. Just use a Fixative Spray on your work after you have completed it, and it will seal all the makeup product into the paper and will make them transfer proof and smudgeproof.

And he goes, I met him once, at Short Hills mall! And we proceeded to have a little flip out about how talented you were and how cool it was that he met you. LOL Such dorks.

hey Lissa - bring youre crease color higher! almost halfway to your brow bone. Its best to do it with open eyes so you know where its visible. Watch my monolid/heavy lid video, its similar to what I did there.
@EnKoreMakeup17 жыл бұрын
the best way is to just have the important things first like foundation, black mascara, black liner, plum lipstick, etc.-- then start collecting as you need them. Thats what I did, and eventually, you will need an extra bedroom just for makeup. (oye!)
@makemeupmeredith13 жыл бұрын
@extasy1 you can use any type of brushes on a face chart. theyre are other types of face charts besides MAC, that you can use.

to present to clients. Like if I have a client in Australia and Im in the US, and he/she wants me to design makeup using Pink, Purple and Green, I design it on this and mail it out to her. - things like that...
@Everywhere213 жыл бұрын
@MyMakeupStash1 - I should also say that long after MUAs have the fundamentals mastered, they'll often use face charts to plan looks or to record what they've done so they can replicate it later. It's a useful technique for those interested in professional results.

@nje3475 thank you so much, I think I ultimately did go for textured paper, which I draw on with coal normally! It seems to work!

most of the time they do - depends if they have a lot to spare. Sone counters are stingy and wont. So hit and miss. Buy try other counters too like Dior or Clinique they have face charts too.

MAC dont sell them - you will just have to ask for them and if theyre generous they wont mind giving you a couple. You can also print it using a textured paper like watercolor paper. There's a link in the More Info section for printable face chart.

I just go to a MAC counter and ask for a couple. Clinique, Dior, and Chanel have face charts too. Some are stingy about their face charts but if you sweet talk them they will give you.

SERIOUSLY people get a life who cares what his sexual orientation is, its none of our business, he's not a dating site he's here giving instructions on his time, he's nice enough to do these do really think he has nothing better to do?? stop being such ingrates! He's so talented and he's a wonderful person, if he's gay so be it, if not whatever.. I love him either way he is such an inspiration to MUA and makeup lovers so scram if you have nothing nice to say!!
@lyssnicolerivera12 жыл бұрын
It can be watercolor paper. Or generally, any textured paper. Like Koren said, you want to use a textured paper so the makeup has something to "grip" to. With the regular printer paper, the makeup won't be as nice and will bleed through. :)

@liliika49 I use a very basic textured paper that my sister in law gets me. It's almost water color, but cheaper. I think you can get it at Micheal's, cheap. I put the charts I purchased, since I sell cosmetics I put cosmetics on all skin tones, and no one looks like that Mac person :) I copied some of mine out on Craft paper to show darker skin tones what my stuff looks like on darker skin. It's not 100% the same, but it's close. I use spray lacquer in a light layer to hold my makeup on.
