@@sarahpotts1200, thank you so much for your kind words! I use cornstarch in the molds, but 99% of the time now I use Hearty Soft Clay. It’s an air dry clay, but it stays flexible even after it’s a bit dry, doesn’t break and shrinks less.

Tips for affixing the glitter- filled half bauble without spilling everything please ? Not so easy to see how you did it
@designsbyJ3 ай бұрын
@@sarahpotts1200, I sprinkled everything in while the medium I put down first was still wet. You can use an adhesive that dries clear. One I like to use is Pentart heavy body gel.

What a beautiful family treasure! Can you tell me what glue you use to lay down the beaded jewelry chain? That is such a great finishing touch!
@designsbyJ2 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, Alyson! I believe I used Aleene’s tacky glue for the metal beading, but you do have to watch it as it can slip down until the glue starts to tack up and dry.

Do you let the iridescent paste and glitter dry before you add the alcohol ink

No, I didn’t but it all dries quickly and the alcohol inks sped up the drying even more.

Thank you! I really don’t remember what size I used for this ornament. I did buy it from Hobby Lobby. Lately, I prefer to use HUG SNUG seam binding at 1/2” width which I purchase from Etsy. I show using it in several videos, the latest of which is the Vintage Ballerina oval ornaments. This seam binding will crinkle up once you wet it with water or paint as I did in the video mentioned. Then you scrunch it up and dry it while continuing to wad it up.

Thank you, Linda! If I am understanding the question correctly, I dust the molds with cornstarch prior to adding the clay. It aids in an easy release from the mold. Is that what you were referring to?

Thank you! Yes, I thought I had bought from Amazon, but in researching my emails, it appears that I bought the bigger ones from Etsy. 🤷♀️ I think this link is correct. If you can find a two piece bigger, that would work too, but I did buy from these folks, though, so I’m fairly sure these are the ones. www.etsy.com/listing/1071637710/set-of-3-clear-plastic-disc-ornaments?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=clear+plastic+disk+two+piece+fillable+ornaments&ref=sr_gallery-1-3&organic_search_click=1
