Thanks Wade this was really helpful. I am not new to ACF but new to using Divi I have a client I need to build several sites for on Divi and I normally use Elementor. Got the general idea from your vid for dynamic content is there an easy way to do a custom loop for the archive. So custom fields can be added to the archive looped item?
@WadeMcMaster3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I dont know if they can be added to the loop in the sense that your blog page showcases the custom field, mainly on the post or page itself.

Custom post type which you skim through at the beginning is actually a pretty big deal and a recent feature of ACF, right? No need for that other plugin since ACF got us fully covered now. Thanks for the video.

True! I think may have been relying on old knowledge there.

I'm struggling in Divi to get the ACF Wysiwyg custom field type to display on the front end. I'm getting a bunch of html code rather than the proper formatting. Any ideas?
@WadeMcMaster4 ай бұрын
I think there's an option in that field to allow code, I can't remember sorry. But check out the field settings in the acf setup and see if you can turn something like that on. Also, maybe trying a divi code module instead of text? I may need to investigate further

@@WadeMcMaster thanks. I’ll try. Even the plain text box doesn’t display with line breaks on the front end. Just ends up one big paragraph. Do you have a trick for this?
@WadeMcMaster4 ай бұрын
I don't sorry. I'm not sure why that is happening. I'd need to do some digging but I don't have this set up anymore unfortunately.

Thanks for the video! I am trying to use this to build a project template for displaying client jobs I've done. I am utilizing a Text Bob field to bring over some project information. Everything is working great except for that when it renders on the front end, the line breaks are not working and all my text comes out in one giant block (though it does pop in eith or ). I have tried both options under Presentation in ACF as well as tried turning on Enable raw HTML in the Divi settings and nothing works.

That's weird. Have you tried the WYSIWYG editor, with Enable Raw Html?

May I suggest that in your videos you use chapters so that on repeat viewings I can easily find the portion I want to rewatch?

Hi Wade, That's a great video thanks. I'm building a website about a shipwreck. No, not THAT shipwreck. I want to have a record for each person who was on the ship, this would include their biographical details like name, DOB, Date of Death, home town, job, etc I would then want an area where I could put additional text and photos, to tell more of that persons story. Would ACF be a suitable use case for that? (Previously - pre-Divi - I've done a similar site where I had a page for each person but that got messy pretty quickly and it was really hard to have each page similar stylistically). I'd appreciate any tips or advice you might be able to offer on the subject. A related question - is it possible to import data to custom fields. So for example say I have a spreadsheet with the relevant basic data (names, dates, job etc) I'd like to be able to import that data so it creates a new 'post' for each line, and completes the fields from the columns in that line. I've looked at a plugin WP all import but it's way too expensive for me, for a one-off website which is a non-profit (technically negative profit LOL) website. Thanks, Michael

I think ACF would be good for that for sure, I'm not sure ab out importing information though. Butusing the Wordpress post importer (exporting a sample of a complete page) you may be able to fudge up a CSV file that does the trick, whilst importing posts.
