I saw them play at the community center in Hemet, Ca back in probably 1986 or '87!! I was a freshman in high school and my older cousin received $70,000 settlement when he turned 18 and he started putting on these dances in Hemet. He would hire his DJ buddy and he had a couple friends that were rappers too and they would come do a little show too! The first 2-3 dances were pretty profitable and he cleared about $1500 on each one which was some decent money back then, every Mexican teenager in Riverside county was there and they were some really fun dances. He would rent a hall or aVFW post or the community center to throw the dances in. He partnered with some guy on the last dance and they hired Desire to come play, it's when that song was popular as hell. I remember they had to get limo service for them and stock it with alcohol and snacks and shit like that. They showed up really super late and they were all ducked up and it was only the guy from Desire that came but he had some other girl singer with him. He said the regular chick had quit to become a country singer I guess. This other girl he had wasn't too bad but she was completely wasted and didn't know some of the words, but it turned out to be an ok show. I think they just did maybe 3-4 songs and he paid them $5000. They had a guy there videotaping everything so there might still be a VHS tape floating around out there somewhere maybe, I doubt he still has it because he became a bad junkie for many years and all that money he had received and had made from the dances was all gone within a year he just blew it all. But I can say that I did see Desire in person even though it was only half of the group! Crazy days back then, but really fun times!!
