Musically often overlooked by the rest of the world, the beautiful country of France actually has got quite a rich history in electronic music and Synthpop in particular. In fact, the French language fits in with the dark and cold sound of that musical style quite beautifully, in my personal opinion. So for this episode of "The Drumtrooper", I picked one of the most famous French pop hits of all time: VOYAGE, VOYAGE by French singer DESIRELESS. It's been released in 1986 as a single from her studio album FRANÇOIS and almost instantly became a number-1-hit in ten European countries. For me, it's ticking all the right boxes when it comes to classic Synthpop, since its overall timbre is cold, melancholic and topped with a beautiful voice and a super catchy melody line in the chorus. Of course, I needed to break out my trusty SIMMONS SDS-9 kit again for this one, and I really hope you're going to enjoy this trip back in time together with me.
