Sarat chandra chatterjee is my favorite author...i read devdas many times...but this hindi devdas is littile glorified as usual like a bollywood movie. 'Devdas' was a Noble written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhay. And in 1926, as a silent film, it was first filmed by Pramathesh Chandra Barua, the Prince of Gauripur Royal Family. He visited Europe to learn about film-making. And in 1935, he finally re-filmed it with sound in Bengali Language, and he played the role of Devdas himself. In fact, he was the pioneer of Modern Indian Cinema. He invested so much to bring equipments for film-making. Fact- His life is quite similar as the character of Devdas. He was very addicted to Wine. So, he played the character very naturally. I'm from Gauripur, and I read in Pramathesh Barua College, a very popular college of his name. He was a Legend. Shared it with you guys. It'll help you knowing how Indian Cinema was established.

It's funny how people with no knowledge of dramatics, literature and story writing just come up and disrespect fine artwork. He spoke about everything, but he did not mention the ultimate acting skills of the entire casting. When author Sarat Chandra wrote this, he himself hated this story but the public loved it.

Sarat Chandra Chatterjee wrote this story when he was drunk and he himself said it was his drunken mistake and his worst writing, but still it's one of his most famous stories. The movie is little bit different from the book. Like in the book Devdas's mother never insulted Paro's mother, she politely rejected Paro's marriage proposal. And also Paro grew arrogant because of her beauty and kinda behaved quite rudely to Devdas, because of which he hit her with a thin bamboo stick unlike the scene in the film. He had bipolar disorder. His father didn't care about him. Paro was the only one who did. But seeing her behaving rude with himself made him angry and that's why he hit her. In the book Devdas was older than Paro and Paro used to call him "Dev Da(bhaiya)". Society was one of the reasons they couldn't get married. After that at the end when Devdas saw that Paro has started a new life and here Chandramukhi is caring him alot, he started to have sympathy on her with a little bit of friendly love. The book contains many details and was more tragic and reasonable. You need to analyze the story to understand it. Don't compare the story with todays era as the books was based on late 1800s.

Why Shahrukh ? I mean , my mother is also a fan of Shahrukh Khan but I never understood . In all of his movies in 90s he doesnot even look good , and he plays same character of a PHYSOTIC KILLER where he brutly kills his girlfriend . He torches his girlfriend and takes revenge on her and eventually kills her . He could even deliver dialogs properly like - "KKKKKKKKKKKKKK KIRAN" In all of his movies after 2010 are basically senceless and he is not even a good actor . And probably you like his movies in 2000s . Still I don't understand why people are mad for him specially girls . Comeon , look at his movies in movies - from movie like DIVANA , DAR, BAZIGAR to many movies where he portays like RAEEYS, PATHAN ....

@@manasuniyal2897 Interesting question! Okay So, I don't know about other girls. I can explain my side. First I personally like Shahrukh Khan as a person. His wittyness, sense of humour, respective personality is just something that I really adore! And secondly, coming to his movies! Listen I'm also from 2000s. But one thing I have noticed about films that nowadays films are more realistic and actors are more into like real life based stories or something and try to pick different genre in every film. But if you look at 70s, 80s, 90s the majority stories are patriarchal and way to much filmy that are not really relatable to our generation obviously. Where SRK puts a new way to fall in love and also apart from that he entered in Bollywood as an lead in negative role and now he is the most famous star in India. This struggle is just astonishing. You can say that those movies are not that much good.. that's true i somehow agree with that as well. May the stories are not good enough but you can't say he is not a good actor. Ha acts with his eyes. Please watch Chak de India, Swades, Dear Zindagi, My Name Is Khan, Raees, Veer-Zaara... And many more to come to prove his acting skills. Nowadays our generation have good actors but in past they were not only phenomenal actor they used to be a STAR. That's the difference. Lastly, Either you can love Shahrukh Khan or you can hate Shahrukh Khan. That's absolutely everyone's personal choice. But the fact is you can't ignore Shahrukh Khan.
