The Visio approach is powerful, native and straight forward. However, unfortunately it cannot be implemented in a Canvas App directly, correct? So, this PCF seems to be quite amazing!

FANTASTIC!!! Amazing work as always Reza. I plan on using this for a car reservation solution. However, I am extremely new to Dataverse. If you don't mind I have a couple questions. 1. Is the Desk Reservation table a standard or activity table? 2. I just want to make sure you used a lookup instead of a relationship like a one-to-many. 3. Can the same be applied to time frames? For example, multiple reservations in one day but at different times using two date and time columns. Thank you in advance and please continue to share your great and inspiring work!

1 - Standard 2 - I used a Lookup - which in turn does create a Relationship :) 3 - Possible by adding additional columns in table to track the timeframes.

This is pretty cool use of the Microsoft cloud for accomplishing a desk reservation system. Can you use the connections to somehow changing the image of the 'chair' in the visio diagram (like adding a circle and a line through it) so it reflects the desk is reserved for a specific date when the user selects a date in the powerapp?

The diagram cannot be changed but the colors can be changed, For example. reserved desks are red. Available desks are green.

Amazing video Reza! for licensing, I understand that I would need the Power BI license to share with my users, but what if another staff wanted to reserve a desk? Could they with a free account or do they need to have the PRO or Premium license to be able to do that?

Power BI License is needed. Power Apps license is also needed (standard or premium - that depends upon the data source the App is connecting to). Maker of Power BI report will also need a Visio license.

Great video and solution that looks like it would be really useful. One question I have is when sharing the Power BI report would this work if it was shared using the publish to web option? We don't currently have Power BI Pro licenses for all our users so currently using the publish to web option is the only way we can share PBI reports with everyone.

Thank you for the compliments. The Visio visual will work with publish to web. The Power Apps visual though would require user to be signed in as Power Apps are not anonymous.

You are spot on. Premium license for Power Apps is needed since I am using Dataverse. If you are to use a standard data source like SharePoint or Excel, then in that case all you need is a seeded Office license for your users.

The desk selection screen is disabled if another desk is selected for same date. You could also check if data is reserved when user clicks on submit button and accordingly notify the user.

Possible but with SharePoint the Power BI report will not instantly refresh as SharePoint does not support DirectQuery

Thank You. You can use any data source of your choice. The live refresh of data as shown in demo (Power Apps refreshing Power BI) is only supported for data sources with Direct Query. SharePoint does not support direct query.

The Power App is tied to Power BI report which in turn is tied to my data set which is Dataverse. So even if I share the App, you will not get it to work since the BI association will be missing.

Hi Reza. Are you able to show how you would do this using SharePoint and Power Apps only (ie exclude the Power Bi elements)? I am nearly there with a nice little app BUT, struggling with filtering an available desks collection (from a sharepoint list) with desk that have already been booked on a specific date (in another list). ie Filter DeskCollection, where date is equal to a dropdown AND desk number is in main booking list. (tried "Lookup", "in", "Filter" etc... Any help appreciated. 👊👊🙏🙏

Excel is not a good data source of choice. You could use excel but I believe it does not support directquery and live refresh.

The Power App is connected to the power bi report which is in turn connected to the visio diagram. Power App is also connected to Dataverse. Sharing the App alone will not be usable. You will anyways have to configure and setup all components.

The created PowerApp from PowerBI has the PowerBIintegration (with passing deskID), but it hasn't the desk selection, galleries, form, screens and the rest of the things.

Whenever Visio file is opened it gives the MS security popup to enable external connection or not. Also if the visio is saved in a SP site and opened it disables the refresh until we open the file and manually refresh it. Any way to bypass this popup

When a desk is booked, the system maintains the date for which it is booked. For the next day, the desk would be available.

I added a custom property to each shape and gave it a unique id. Its more of a visio concept.

That is done in Visio. Its an image and the shapes are the chairs.

How can we add color to specific desk on reserved? In colors it only shows range to color. Doesnt have option when Status equals something

Color to Visio or Button in App? You can set the Fill property of the button in power app based on status.

Hi Reza, this is real good work but it's too complex for me and not don't use Visio. However, I need to build similar for event registration urgently- book and unbook with SP list can you kindly teach that? Admin list and participants list, where by admin can add / delete event back end and participant can book and unblock and view by this week, month and previous month and following month. They can also unbook the registration which will return to the booking as open .. Also allow participant to delete the record on the mobile on their end but not the overall data back in SP.. Can you please show this? thank you
