Life has hindered my dream of drawing for a living, but now at 42 years of age I’m actually in a place to where I can start on making this dream a reality! And like Urself I’ll be “living @ my desk” also. Except I’ll be able to start with a setup as the one shown in this video or 1 like it. Which is why I watched in the 1st place. Once my equipment has arrived (March-April?) I’ll begin my animation journey. Thank you for insight and openness regarding ur studio and ur throughout ur journey as well. I use a dirt cheap North Bayou arm that i picked up for around $25 for my XP-Pen 22E pro. I’ve been loving it. It does take two hands to move around but it is quite firm to draw on. It wont budge unless its your intention. So nice being able to move it off to my right as an extra display when I’m gaming or doing research and pull down in front of me when im working on a project.

What you said about working really hard to save some budget to be able to buy something and once you have bought it in the end, you'll use it to earn back mostly the value of what you've spent for that object, never thought of something like that. I guess you've given me a wider perspective or better ideology of what will the better uses of the things we have saved for. I guess I haven't really maximize the value of those things. can confirm that you dont need big hefty equipment to live out your dream. im in the very early stages of a short animation and all i have is a small laptop and a huion 580 (which has been off the market for years). all you need is determination and imagination

Slow motion is quite a task, it is the same as animating normal paced motion, just a lot more in betweens if you are going for a smooth animation.

Animate the whole scene, export it as image sequence and decrease the speed of clip in the video editor

Your story really inspires me.. All that hardwork, from being at the bottom and now at the top. You really deserve it! I also want to strive like you do and also buy the things i want. Upgrading equipment really helps since it's really frustrating to work with slow laptops.. Right now, I only work with 1.8GHz processor of laptop and its so hard when you want to work faster. I'm starting to think of going back to commissions but do you think starting animation commissions (even with little experience) can do? Or is it better to start just small commissions first?

Nope. He didnt have normal animator route. He went direct to digital and learned animation before learning anatomy. That's why he has a very different style compared to typical animators.

But at the moment you start telling about what you start with I felt a wave of hope. I work on an old laptop and a mouse on my bed. I finished my second animation just yesterday. Kymani Brown I just finished animating a 60 second piece with lip sync on Flipaclip. Never again! I love the layout of the app, but I would import art from procreate and instead of importing pixel to pixel, it would import relative to the size of my canvas. I would have to resize the imported images to match and that caused the images to “pop’’ in size with each change in images in the sequence. I bought a wacom cintiq 22hd and plan on trying out Adobe Animate next.

@@dan-ez8lg I find Callipeg on the iPad to be a much better 2D animation app. More so if you are used to Procreate. Actually, I'd say Clip Studio Paint EX wouls be the best of all on iOS but that doesn't come cheap.

I use mouse as my digital pen. Kinda difficult to create a fine line but I'm enjoying animating and create arts in my cheap desktop. I use Krita as my animation tool and background designing. I love it ❤️

I recommend getting a Ryzen 4000 series CPU since the 3000 series CPU's are SO good at multithreaded work, in short, Ryzen CPU's are really good for the kind of work you're doing. I also say get the 4000 series because they're coming out in October I believe.

Definitely agree. My 3900x is a beast at multitasking and the new 5900x looks like its going to steal the throne at the overall best consumer cpu in all categories.
