『ペルソナ』シリーズのキャラクターデザインや、新しく立ち上がった『Project Re Fantasy』のアートを担当されている副島成記さんが、『ペルソナ5』の「新島真」を描き下ろす映像をまとめてみました。
主に使うソフトはSAIとPhotoshop、タブレットは液晶タイプでなく板タイプを使うそう。
"ずっと板タブを使っていることもあって、絵が手で隠れてしまうのが嫌なんです。それでも液タブのほうがいいという話はよく聞くので、最近は導入しようかなと思い始めていますが……（笑）。自分は使い慣れたものを使い続けてしまう性質なので、古いものを使っていますが、他のスタッフはもっと新しいものを使っています。"

Funny how he uses paint tool sai to paint but photoshop for technical stuff cuz he knows photoshop sucks for painting. He's amazing.

Absent it's actually quite good for most of the parts, but the performance and memory otself can be quite hindrance for the time

@@razzlindazzle I use SAI and I find it the best of many, Photoshop is a clusterfuck, Clip studio is just as cluttered I always find myself going back to SAI because of it's versatility and ease of use/customization.

@@kofinart Good to see another SAI user! Yeah the customization encourages people to make their own thing however if you're a beginner you can get kinda lost because of that. I was like that also, but as time passed, with more skills gained I'm making a lot of choices in the program and I feel much more comfortable with it and I feel I can get a lot of effects and ideas with it!

@Absolutely Dreadful Because it was first. For the wallet tearing price it isnt all that special. And the performance isnt the best compared to other capable programs

Photoshop doesn't suck for painting, it's just a different approach. I use both, it is true that for manga/stylized styles it is more convenient, but it depends. Sai is not good when it comes to get textures tho, both have pros and cons

I’m late but he mainly used the pencil tool and water brush! Pretty amazing he does so much with so little!!
