I wasn't that enthusiastic about the concept at first, but this coaster (pacing and layout) really convinced me. Imagine this as a well themed (indoor) coaster with maybe double the length, epic! I hope we'll see more parks get one of those in the future!

Not to mention these 'dueling' rides seem very cool in concept, until stuff flies from riders' pockets blinding/seriously injuring riders on the other track.
@XenoghostTV3 жыл бұрын
Dude this thing feels completely stable, I had a ride on it just yesterday. It's extremely short and there are two parallel trains allowing four passengers per turn, so the waiting line is not longer than iSpeed's or other attractions' lines in Mirabilandia. That being said, if you desire an authentic fun experience you should sacrifice some cash and get a one-day premium pass in order to almost completely skip queues, like I did. Experiencing attractions only once or twice because you have to wait 45 minutes or even more for a single ride is terrible, at least for those like me, who wish to get the most out of their visit riding on something several times in a row and then chaining attractions of different types one right after the other in a non-stop fashion flow. I didn't come there to wait, you know what I'm saying.
@XenoghostTV3 жыл бұрын
@@epicnab The security doesn't allow you to get on it with objects in your pockets. Even if you managed to, it's impossible to see from this on-board video but there's an enormously wide magnetic belt holding you to the thing which probably seals your pockets shut during the ride and prevents sneaked-in material to drop from them.
@Banjo_Tails3 жыл бұрын

@@Banjo_Tails No, I've informed you that the "capacity issue" involves all major attractions, at least in that park, therefore it's not something specific to the Desmo Race as you had implied in your comment.

When I went only one of the tracks was operating and I saw the other track and me and my sister just thought ‘oh they’re supposed to have another track to put more people at once and that’s why the lines so long’ I would’ve loved to do a race with me and my sister vs my mom and my aunt! It’s unfortunate it wasn’t operating like that but I definitely enjoyed it!

@MondoCoasters3 жыл бұрын
That's cute and all... but when considering the fact that this coaster hasn't been able to operate almost AT ALL until this season, and yet it still breaks down due to maintenance issues frequently, the park had to get rid of the speed control mechanic to try and reduce its down-time, and on top of all this, the capacity is abysmal (ESPECIALLY for such a big park like Mirabilandia), it's safe to say that Desmo Race was a colossal flop. Here's hoping any park which is larger than a Family Entertainment Centre stays far away from this ride model.

I am no engineer so any engineers are more than welcome to tell me to blow it out my back side, but I am really surprised they went with a direct gear drive attaching to the track! Seems like a simple set of grippy pinch wheels would have been less wear and tear. Metal on metal gears seems kinda crazy. Could also had a continuous fin on the sides or top of the track that wheels would grip as well. Idk though. Too bad from the comments that it didn't meet expectations I guess. Best of luck to Mauer with future innovations though!

Wait is that really how this coaster moves? That's insane. When we have rides regularly built with LSM's and LIM's you'd think that would be easier and more reliable with less potential wear and tear. This design seems on the more archaic side of ride technology...
