It is rare for fan bases of a college team, whose quarterback led them to the college football playoff to not believe in the guy as an NFL quarterback… see JJ McCarthy from this past year. Mich fans have been all over his såck this offseason, but not here. Cincinnati fans were telling me this guy would not cut it at the next level, and I believed them. He was inaccurate in college, he was inaccurate in the pros. Can’t read defenses, throws into cover, etc. I thought it was crazytown for Arthur Smith to hitch his wagon to the guy, and it ultimately (among many other things) cost him his job.

The Slant and the Curl route are probably the first two, or one of the first, that a QB will ever learn route-wise and are the most simple, drop-back 3-step and fire type of routes you could throw to. I still love the dig and post route the most, cross routes are also good at getting space with defenders. I will say, if any of those routes are thrown late, they can be picked off, however, a lot of these 'easy' routes he's throwing are behind, in front, or just plain blind throws. It gets to the point, even as a giants fan, where I can say "DJ is better than DR."

Like the one against the panther, if he actually fakes that handoff, there a good chance 88 falls for it, because he already was falling for it. But no, instead he doesn't fake it at all and 88 reacts to it, causing ridder to panic and roll way to far out and then the cherry on top, he throws an horrid pass for a pick.
