Great playthrough, well explained, thanks. Looking forward to watching the playthrough using the Dark Matters 1 & 2 Expansions that add characters, items and affliction cards increasing difficulty and replayability. Also looking forward to seeing how the Insurgence expansion works as there's very little information about it anywhere.

He's definitely refined these mechanics with Tin Helm and Dustrunner. I haven't really looked at Desolate beyond the base game, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the expansions add. I wonder if Jason will ever do a mint tin edition of Desolate. It would probably need something to set it apart from Tin Helm and Dustrunner for him to want to.

I would buy a mint tin version if desolate in a heart beat. I’m sure Jason would add to it and tweak it. I’m enjoying Desolate a lot. I’m looking forward to using the expansions.

The game is better with Dark Matters. Too easy with just the base. There are some tough aliens and a brutal Affliction (lose an extra oxygen each round) in the expansions.
