Despite more than 300 Iranians killed, protests show no signs of stopping | DW News

The UN condemned the Iran's deadly crackdown directed at protesters, which were ignited by the death of 22-year-old Jina Mahsa Amini.
UN spokesman Jeremy Laurence cited human rights chief Volker Turk as saying that the rise in deaths, including among children, and the tougher security response "underline the critical situation in the country."
The UN urged Iranian authorities to address the demands for equality, dignity and rights, rather than "using unnecessary or disproportionate force to suppress the protests," Laurence told reporters on Tuesday.

The people are monitored by state authorities. When you buy a house you have to pay regular taxes on it, so the house doesn't belong to you, you are just the temporary owner. If you don't pay the taxes, your house will be taken away from you. Everything you do, no matter what you buy, everything is controlled. Your bank account can be blocked at any time.

Same! Work and live there. It’s unbelievable how citizens and government are different! The dictator regime’s usual head in the sand response , I can’t tell if they’re unwilling to acknowledge their needs to hold on to the power or they’re actually unaware of them! They treat their critics as estrangers ! Despite all the opposed religious rules people are so creative to find their escapes! The situation there is so complicated to me.
