Dessert Fine Gold, Easiest Way To Find It

Prospecting for fine gold using the Gold Magic Wheel in the Arizona desert washes. We'll show you how to we set it up in a tub and how it catches the very fine gold that is in this area {Morristown}. Because we're both in our 70's this machine is our favorite way to prospect because it's so light and easy to set up.

In the field...I look for and I set up to catch black sand... then seperate the gold from the black sand after I get home. It is generally misunderstood by weekenders just how valuable gold stuck to the sides of black sand grains can be. Or just how valuable black sand is even without any gold in it. Chemically extracting gold from black sand is very common in large mining operations and pays for operational expenses in some cases leaving a substantial profit from the gold.

@@TheOldCoupleOutdoors In selecting an automatic panner the Gold Majic stands out as a winner because of its ability to both wet and dry pan. My 360X (Power) microscope lets me see into a world where microscopic precious metals exist. Gold is distributed in the earth subsurface in a wide range of size... So small it can not be seen by the human eye, but can be detected by modern ICP analysis and by associations with other minerals like quartz and iron of which we can see. Sometimes the indicator minerals are paired with gold and sometime there is no gold. So what might be of interest to a large mining company (microscopic gold) may be of limited interest to a hobby miner/prospector. As hobbiest we need something we can see and catch in our drywashers and sluce boxes and large enough to mechanically seperate in enough concentration where we can recover our operating costs and maybe a little bit more. And hopefully alot more! We need gold large enough to sound off on our metal detectors and gold large enough to sound off can be hard to find. Finding a spot we can work where the concentration is high enough to make it worth our time and expense is paramount and requires a great deal of planning, sampling, research and effort. So gold stuck to the sides of sand grains isn't gona be of much interest to hobbiests because we aren't set up to extract microscopic gold. We are limited to a distribution size of gold that can be mechanically seperated with our modern tool sets. First we got find it... then we gota mine it and we have to know who owns the land we are on, ect, ect.

We think it works great, we've used in Colorado in the Arkansas River and found quite a bit of gold we set it on the edge of the river where there wasn't very much current and it's all we use in the desert, set in a tub with great recovery.
