I live here and love it, it has gotten a little overcrowded during the "season" the past couple years but its worth it still. Thank you for being honest about Fudpuckers food as many people hype it up. Mcguires is delicious ans has large portions. For anyone thinking of visiting get on social media and find out about great local places to eat that arent tourist traps. Dewey Destins has the freshest seafood around and is reasonbly priced, as a FL Native it reminds me of "old FL"

I was stationed at Eglin 73-74. Destin was just a sleepy fishing village but I'd go on the Island to swim offshore. Most the tourist and spring breakers went to PCB.

Like i said Destin was a sleepy fishing village and i knew these guys who lived in a flea bag motel there which was the only motel in Destin. They were building 4 story condos but they were sinking into the sand. lol@@Livingontheemeraldcoast wish i could had bought some property then.

Fudpuckers- average food like he said but cool place to feed the gators etc. mcguires- amazing place to visit !!!! Amazing atmosphere and music, amazing food !!!

In the video; the chicken and waffles are from Another Broken Egg (it’s pretty good but not just a local spot). Also check out Crackings in Destin and the Donut Hole for breakfast. The Po Boy is from BoShamps. You will find plenty of Po Boyd and seafood all up and down Destin. The burger I believe was from Fudpuckers, fun place to go! I still prefer Hallandale Beach Florida more it’s a beautiful city with a growing communities and businesses and a good nightlife, And Gulf Stream Park with second biggest statue, the Pegasus in the United States 🇺🇸 ❤️

I went here from June 23rd to June 30th and it was so fun. Water wasn’t as clear because it was a little stormy before we went and rained at night time and I didn’t even realize it.

Don't forget to say dogs are not allowed in Okaloosa county or fort Walton on the beach. No no no.

Unfortunately not for anyone on vacation. If you’re a resident you can obtain a dog permit: Dog on Beach permit. All Dog on Beach permits are valid on August 1 and expire July 31, regardless of the purchase date with a grace period until August 15. Permitted dogs will be allowed on County beaches between the times of 3:30pm and 8:30am 365 days a year. The cost is approximately $40. As an alternative option; It’s a bit of a drive but you can go over to Pensacola Beach where there are two dog beach sections right on the gulf.

@@Livingontheemeraldcoast your comment about dogs on beaches is very misleading. Chamber of commerce says you can buy a permit and use in front of your very own beach house but not even if your house is behind the beach house closest to the water. And there are very few county park beaches anyway. The permits are very strict and would only be for a select few that are lucky enough to be right on the beach.
