The bass player who passed away (Heath) was indeed in this video, which is from a film gig made in 1993. RIP Heath

"Visual Kei" is their style, not musically, but their presentation. Uniquely Japanese (although it reminds you of extreme hair metal bands from the US) as it derives from Japanese culture like Kabuki theater, but KISS also was influenced by Kabuki with their image.

Does every Japanese band have those crazy drummers. Running 200mph. Even if all the rest isnt that amazing the drums sucks you in. Love it 🤘

If you want to have your mind blown check out Yoshiki (drummer and pianist) playing classical piano from his solo touring in recent years.

Yeah glam influence is definitely there. I think Kiss was one of the bigger influences for many in the band. Also when I was going deep into the X-Japan rabbit hole as a kid, I remember seeing some Hanoi Rocks covers too from the band.

That drummer is shredding it - Made me wonder if he's Nyango Star lmao

He is not, since there is a video where Nyangostar plays Kurenai (X Japan song) for the drummer (Yoshiki)
