Destination Moon (1950) - Movie Trailer

After a tycoon finances a spaceship, the United States makes the world's first-ever trip to the moon in this 1950 sci-fi adventure. But once there, the astronauts realize a miscalculation means they might not have enough fuel to return to Earth. Now they must frantically work to lighten their rocket for the return trip. Based on a novel by Robert A. Heinlein, the film won an Oscar for its special effects.

Destination Moon is a interesting piece of cinema history. It was the first major SF movie for Hollywood and was the start of a period that lasted until end of the 1960s when 2001: A Space Odyssey changed the game. I have always loved those moonscapes in Destination Moon.

"Destination Moon" was the first Sci-Fi film of the 1950's, one of the earliest Sci-Fi films was "Things To Come" from 1936 which was based on the HG Wells novel of the same name, and it was the first film to featured a timeline where the scene took place in 1940 which was 4 years ahead where it predicted WW2, right up to 2036 where the final scene takes you to the space age. "Things to Come" was the film that made history where they predicted the future, and it became the film that featured its own time traveling. As you probably know "Things to Come" was a British film from 1936 was an early attempt at a sci-fi film, and Hollywood wasn't introduced to sci-fi until 1950.

Pellicola molto bella, certo nulla di eccezionale ma comunque piacevole, ci sono degli errori come il fatto che è stato affermato che il titanio veniva utilizzato per costruire la nave. Gli stivali magnetici non si attaccherebbero allo scafo e alle pareti perché il titanio non è magnetico, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.
