Having visited Naxx almost weekly for the last few months, I can honestly say it's an exceptionally challenging place until you have a group of people who know what you're doing. Naxx is still fully capable of wiping a group of non-comitted or PuG players who are not willing to pay attention and follow some rules. I think it's an amazing experience that everyone should undergo, and apparently Bliz agrees, seeing as they are refurbishing it.

Naxx was. When TBC came out it was still there, same level 60 stuff. Just easier for 70s. Now it's been moved to Northrend, so it's an 80 dungeon.

The 40 manning was due to it being arranged for the whole realm and it showed lots of interest. Guess I'm not the onlyone who prefers old world instances :)

Yes, its now in Northrend and is tuned to be level 80 end game. Haven't a clue if its still gonna be in Azeroth though..

Presumably, the best option for avoiding Kel'Thuzads ice blocks is to pay attention to Bigwigs and not stand close enough to anyone else to get ice blocked. But people will always get ice blocked and if you're pugging it more than one person is bound to be chilled. This was what made KT challenging to us, and if I could inherit some divine insight for how to deal with it, that'd be dandy. The MC is annoying but bearable, and the adds are nothing. But a 100% of TOTAL / 4 seconds is a raidkiller.

When we finally cleared the bosses leading up to Sapphiron, we were in for yet another surprise. Sapphiron is no joke, he, like the INTARNET is SERIOUS BUSINESS. On reflection (and wishing that I was able to have more of a hand in instructional tactics) he's not TOO challenging as long as people think rationally in order of progress. Kill him til he flies, raid heal, and wait until he actually drops the ball before hiding behind the ice blocks. If you bunch up too soon he will wipe you with AOEs

Kel'thuzad was and still is another jack in the box surprise. Most guilds I've spoken to think he's cake compared to Sapphiron but I heartily disagree. His add phase is cake and pie, as long as you know how and where to kite the mobs and your DPS doesn't zzz/afk until it gets interesting. And his Stage 3 Tanks are also easy with modern gear and skills. What burns a raid down to dirt is the ice blocks. Other than Chain Heals or Holy Novas and quick thinking healers, I have no idea how to fix that

t8 from ulduar raids looks decent, some of the npcs wear t8 apparently, like Father gustav wears preist t8 and grand apothecary putress wears warlocks t8, its just form wat ive heard though

40 Man dungeons were discovered to be difficult to maintain and catered to a lack in balance for players. The majority of WoW's paying customer base are casual or even antisocial individuals who are more comfortable with a smaller group of companions than with trying to organize 40+ people into super-refining themselves in order to make progress.

Honestly, the difficulty curve in Naxx was tremendously unbalanced. While it had an appreciable curve with the intention of progressively becoming more successful in Naxxramas as you raided more and more of it, it ramps up difficulty excessively at specific choke points. The two largest problems we had before we got to Sapphiron (bearing in mind our runs were OSR drunken frat runs) were Gluth, who requires people to pay attention, and Heigan who just bugged out for a few months and didn't spawn.
