I am a disabled veteran of the US Army. You , through your videos gave me the strength to tackle the Appalachian trail here in the US. I have hiked all 2614 miles of it. Something my doctors said was not possible for me. There was no way my legs could hold up. Through many tears, cries, and pain I did it. I'm kind of in the same boat my friend. 3 time cancer Survivor, the chemo has taken its toll on me deteriorating my joints. 10 surgeries in 3 years so I could go galivanting and pulling shenanigans in the coolest environments I could survive in. I've been to all but 9 of the 50 US states and lived in 8 of them. I have been blessed to be able to see most of the US in my life, I understand the part about being away from family as I've been away from most of them for most of my life, but the end of 2019 I have had have multiple surgeries on my back and hips and haven't been able to travel at all. It's been you and a couple other YT channels that have gotten me thru those yrs. I'm hopeful to travel again and at least see the last few states, Canada, and Mexico before I can't travel again at all, but with your channel alone, I've seen way more than I ever will with my own eyes. Amazing. I drove to Inuvik, from the Lower Mainland, a few years ago. I found the best time to go is late August because the gravel road is smoother and the fall colors are emerging. Seeing your videos makes me want to go again.
