We just returned from the NCL Sky on Friday and I really enjoyed it. Small ship, but all the public spaces were great. Other than the food, everything else was fantastic.@@DestinedJourney

Buffet food was subpar, often just warm. Only hot when made fresh like pasta or an omelet. The dining room food was decent. The only specialty restaurant we went to was Cagney's and we were very disappointed in that one. Nothing special. I did enjoy the filet though. Sides and appetizer were just eh.@@DestinedJourney

@@tb33023 I agree! Cagney’s was the worst on that ship. It was ok but not what you’d expect for “specialty dining”.

We selected this cruise instead of the Holland America, as the veranda room was less expensive. We selected the NCL Sky for the Dec 1 to Dec 11 sailing and the cruise was the worst. Never been on a cruise ship which you could feel the rocking every time the ship was moving. The buffet was awful, poorly laid out and limited selection. The ship is in need of a face lift as the paint was peeling by the open elevators. We had room 9034 which had no Internet service in the room which made our included Internet worth less. We went to customer service and then to the Internet specialist which turned out to be a waste. They said it would be fixed but didn’t. Overall Customer service lacked. Cagney, the steak restaurant cooked my wife steak medium rare instead of medium well, they did fix it but you would expect better for the cost. A large number of the crew had the flu, which my wife caught on the 8th day. After the cruise we contacted NCL HQ but their response was try us again and we will give you a 10% discount on a future cruise. Why would they think I ever take another cruise with them. Looking back we should’ve taken the Holland America cruise and paid the $1,000 more. The were fabulous on our 2019 Panama cruise on a slightly smaller ship.

I’m learning with all cruises the experiences always vary. The same ship, crew, and customer service can be terrible one week and amazing the next. Sorry your experience was terrible. We have had some great experiences with NCL. I can’t wait to sail with Holland and Celebrity but I know I’ll have to pay more. Hopefully it’ll be worth the cost difference.

I absolutely loved the Sky! My first cruise ever. It was so fun. Sure the boat is a little old, but it worked perfectly for us. Definitely gonna be going on another cruise. Maybe a slightly larger Norwegian. Their drink package is awesome too!! Love the Sky ❤️❤️

We love Norwegian! I’m glad you had a great first cruise. There is no better way to travel. We love the smaller NCL ships. One of our favs is the Sun (sister to the Sky) where we sailed to Alaska.

@DestinedJourney I like the fact it's a smaller ship less people the staff was amazing and they remembered my name every time I went to a bar 🍸 and you saw the same people day after day I just like the smaller ship vibe better

Have you tried the Sun? (sister ship). We actually preferred it over the Sky.

@DestinedJourney no I haven't I'm going on joy on March 30th and back on the sky on May 5th I was on the escape I didn't care to much for it to big I will let you know how I like the joy coming up

As to The Local, my impression is it's more a sports bar rather than a restaurant. Sort of like going to a local restaurant/bar, but everyone knows the bar is the more popular part.

Very informative video, thank you! We are planning on going on a west African cruise in November. Unfortunately I had to keep my eyes closed halfway through as I got really seasick from the shaky video quality. 😅
