The hawkmoon is actually nutty in pve. A team killed the final boss in the deep stone crypt with it. They were hitting like 150k with the final shot.

I average 3-4 one shots a game with it, you just have to land your shots and play within it's range. It also has crazy base stats for a 140, combine that with the random rolls and the consistency is what makes it worth using over the exotic perk.

The "Feeling Lucky" ornament is a reference to Dirty Harry's Model 29 S&W and it's great. Also, I kinda prefer it when guns in Destiny have a more "traditional/conventional" aesthetic to them. It's a nice contrast to all the crazy scifi stuff you see in the game otherwise.

An easy way to stack Paracausal Shot is to use Lucky Pants, since the auto-reload from hitting headshots doesn't remove stacks if you swap before the last shot.

Hawkmoon damage numbers: With paracausal shot x6, you can one-shot head shot. With paracausal shot x7, you can one-shot body shot. Also, the gun will make the CA-CAW when you reach the last bullet with 6 or 7 stacks of paracausal shot.

Fun Fact: With 7 charged shots, Hawkmoon can 1-shot a full health Dawnblade to the head. And 1-shot a normal Guardian in the body. And yes, it is really good in PvE, if you have good legendary weapons for your other two slots.

How often do you floss Fruit? Flossing can clean out that bacteria that's feeding that ulcer, also any bacteria your corrective mouthpiece is gathering can add to it, so clean that super well too. Hope you have a speedy recovery good sir.

I felt the same thing with the ornament. I use the old west looking one and it feels fine, but the wings one does not feel good. Also it can one shot with six to the head and it can one shot to the body with 7. Also can kill supers to the head with 7

You can argue both ways the buff it has now can one shot and because it has 8 shots youre not gonna be reloading the same way you would with thirteen making it more reliable and using the perk more. On the other hand what made the hawkmoon the hawkmoon was randomly getting lucky in shots and the feeling of chasing and getting it.

Its best to go for 2 taps. You need 5 shots (i believe) to do so. Think of the gun like a mini game, focus on accuracy and think whether its best to reload or not.

This gun has a really high skill ceiling. I think it's better than it's D1 version because you have complete control over the damage perk now. You can't just no brain accidentally get a kill anymore and that will probably turn a lot of people off from it, but imo this is a much better experience, and it can only get better with random rolls and a catalyst.

Fruit, you can cancel the reload by sprinting rather than weapon swapping. Also, if you have 3 stacks you can get 2 tap with the last 2 bullets as long as they're both headshots. If you have 6 stacks, the last bullet can 1 tap to the head. If you have 7 stacks the last bullet can 1 tap to the body or 1 tap a super to the head. It is good in PvE, if you land all crits it outdoes Outbreak Perfected's dps. The only way Outbreak has better dps is if several people are using it. Three people using Outbreak is slightly better than three using Hawkmoon.

To answer the question of, is the DPS meaningful in PVE, yes. Sort of like how Izanagi's damage buff stacks up, unless you have max stacks it won't one shot. If I remember Datto's video correctly, a ×6 Charge will one shot headshot, and ×7 charge will one shot headshot. Anything less than that, then yeah, you're doing less than desirable damage. It is definitely a gun that rewards hitting the headies.
