@@omensoffate toxic not everyone plays pve ya know. So knowing how to maximize damage at around 15 light levels under or in general helps.

Take 1-2 guys rocking Stasis Warlock with Bleak Watcher aspect with you to control adds (Use Veritys Brow and Firepower mods with taking charge and maybe a Demo weapon to keep the nades up most of the time). For Templar we did it with double slugs and anarchy, Well of Radiance and one Ursa Titan (Did half the damage before second oracles spawned and cleansed the mark in the middle and then did the last half of damage (Special finisher is your friend here). For Boss damage it was easier to do it on the platform in the mid and not on the stairs because of the supplicants and Aetheons damage, oracles can safely be done from far back. So as far as builds go: - 1 Titan was enough for us (using Ursas at Templar and Fusion nades at boss) - 2 Warlocks with Bleak Watcher / Switch to whatever you need at the Boss like Well, Geomags or Nova (Stasis doesn't really help at the Boss fight) - 2 Warlocks with Wells or Chaos denpending if you need more heal or add clear (Templar we used 3 Wells in total, 2 for the damage phase and 1 to be safe while cleansing) - 1 Hunter with Tether switching to Goldie whenever more damage is needed or crowd control is more important Weapons: - 3 - 4 should have overload with them - Breach and Clear Anarchy is still OP - There are many Arc and some void shields, don't forget to have matching types with you as minotaurs with the void shields are pretty annoying - The only time we needed Anti Barrier was pre Boss when everyone is back in the Boss room if i remember correctly

My best tip for opening encounter is stasis warlocks/hunters + anarchy. 2 anarchy shots generally killed the cyclops and stasis stuff (also blinding nades are nice) gives you a lot of breathing room

I recently ran VOG (legendary) with one of the best teams I've ever played with as a random. They did two things that I don't understand. Gatekeeper: they kept 3 of us in Mars the entire time killing ads. One of them would show up almost on cue with the relic. He'd take down the pretorian, drop the relic which someone else picked up and left with. When I asked them what was going on outside while we were in Mars I was told that the same thing was going on in Venus. How did they keep the portals open? I have no idea! Whatever they were doing the Gatekeeper encounter was done in a quick single phase. Next, before doing Atheon, they started the encounter and then had the team wipe. We all waited until the countdown clock hit 1:37 before respawning. I asked what this was about and was told that it had something to do with being detained and having more time for DPS. Any idea on this? Templar was amazingly efficient with 3 on ads and 3 taking care of all the oracles. No confusion as to what order to shoot oracles. It worked exceptionally well. Trying to learn from this experience so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I really don't understand the logic behind including the power bonus in this, especially with so little notice. I though Bungie had realised this and would use a contest modifier to set a difficulty, or just disable artifact like IB, trials and day one raids already do. This system just mandates a ridiculous amount of grind and/or afking to be able to do this. The power bonus is a plague in this game and gatekeeps the endgame obnoxiously.

Yep and it's just the encounter challenge for that week. Other encounters can drop stat focused armour but I got a fat 0 armour drops on our run. Cool you can buy guns at the end and they're cheap but the loot system isn't good.

So I've been rocking null but can't really know the damage for Templar, null with anarchy has been giving me about .7m per phase on atheon normally. But I saw a warlock with well get 1.2 mill with blinding nades and xeno. Probably rocking fusions too.

This content's not for me, that's all I'll say. I like GMs... well most of them, but... this is above my head. I say keep consistency and drop it to 1340 like other Master content (Presage is only 1320). A 10 drop should not vastly break the difficulty with the additions made to each encounter, and if it does... well I'm sorry. I'd just enjoy it more that way.

Bungie has just gotten lazy and has started putting difficulty in all the wrong places because its easier for them. My team beat master mode in about 4 hours and nobody had fun. It was the same exact encounters except now you have to sit back and shoot at tanky enemies from a distance, you were locked into anti champion loadouts, and you had to pray you didn't get one shot by something across the map with no warning while trying to do the mechanics. It felt the exact sake but more tedious, and the loot sucks. One timelost weapon per week gives no incentive to play the raid except when a good weapon is available.

Go for max defence such as stasis, wellock, void titan. But do have high burst DPS for Wyverns such as crown splitter with energy accelerant for titans and breach and clear for warlocks, even stasis hunters or nighthawk.

Hot take They should've made the recommended power level 1340-1345 to match a Master Nightfall and if they wanted to, make Atheon 1350. Not all of us are hardcore enough to grind out artifact power to get ourselves to 1350.

@@mrhatty2644 ah okay that's not bad at all. Just need everyone on point with dps. Which is gonna be a pain given how normal vog sees people at times dropping crap numbers. I think 1335 should be a limit for it though. It's gm level plus you need way more coordination. (But the raid mods can also help a lot with that.)

@@mrhatty2644 but I'm still in favor of your idea. I don't think going the halo 2 legendary route of difficulty is great... but tougher enemies vs more enemies and mechanics. Do you want to prioritize positioning to deal with a tough enemy without dying or accuracy and being on the ball to not get swarmed. That's kinds the route I think they should hammer home. Cause once your light level is up there it isn't very hard. I honestly think most things should just end up a contest state. Where light level gets you in and it doesn't matter after that, so the bar is set and the difficulty is locked.

@@tbc1880 I'm not saying bosses are hard, they are fun challenge. But then everything else feels like something out of Grandmaster nightfall. Many people are severely under powered and don't have the ability to defend themselves against a Overload minotaur that ignores overload SMG rounds. This included myself as I never left the first 3 encounters.

Are master mode raids as hard as savage raids in ff14?

From the looks of it, it's about as close as you are going to get. Do keep in mind that difficulty in this game is balanced much differently; Savage raids are mostly hard due to the amount and complexity of mechanics, since getting your rotation down and doing just enough DPS is not that complicated, this is hard because things hit hard and have more health.
