Hey, Ebontis. Took me and my nephew two runs to get the class item and to be honest...this mission was annoying with all the mechanics, specially at the end with the clock. First run we ran out of time, but next run we got the strats and clock timing and "BaNG" we got it. You guide was what we used and we want to say, "Thank you." Keep up the good work, brother.

One thing worth mentioning: sometimes the secret keeper boss just doesn't spawn in, happened to me multiple times last night and I have seen reports of this occurring to other players too. You'll know it spawned in if you see a pop up on the bottom left of your screen saying: A secret keeper of the witch queen is near... If you do not see that pop up it did not spawn in and you will unfortunately need to run another overthrow. It can happen multiple times too, took me 4 clears to get 1 to spawn.

Is it possible to do this under level? I’m able to get to the final room no problem but we run out of time and I’m not sure if it’s because our DPS is too slow. We’re -20 under level

@@evodevo69 Technically yes, but it's very much not advised especially since there's only a limited amount of time to finish it. You and your friend are basically facing nearly grandmaster level enemies at that point. I would suggest you try and get as close as you can to 1995 power, even if you're 5-10 levels under it'll be much more manageable than -20.

Thank you Ebontis for this step by step video on completing the dual destiny quest. The only problem I had is the first clock room encounter. For some reason most people refuse to do it your way. You know R1,L1 etc. I find it so easier doing it that way. But getting the impression that this method is too simple, and opt for something that makes it more confusing. This is one of those love it or hate it missions. I think people who have to lfg a partner are going to hate it given the emphasis on communication and teamwork involved. I’m lucky enough to be able to run this with my son who is both patient and forgiving. The thought of doing this with a stranger gives me anxiety. Lol Great guide. By far the hardest part was coordinating the “clock” part. 😖

I appreciate you mentioning you had to recruit someone. However, as a fairly well known content creator, I can see you would not have problems getting someone to help. I however, have no real aspirations for this exotic. I might try it if I find myself with time to spare to play Destiny some night, but with all the content there is out right now, I doubt I will put time into this. I just finished the entire campaign over a week in. Not sure I will have time to budget for this. That being said, I appreciate your guides and content. Please keep it up!

While i commend Bungie for making this quest. But i find it a slap in the face to the solo, and/or speaking and hearing impaired to make a quest that takes 2 people. I would have assumed that duo quest would have been left for raids only, and anything else would be accessible for solo players. Nonetheless, i hear this is a great mission and kudos to the dev team for that....but why make it not attainable for those reasons i stated previously?

Thank you @tonyhutz for pointing this out. I’m on my wife’s account here but my gamer tag is GODSKEEP. Being a combat vet with hearing loss( left ear deaf, partially in right) coupled with surgeries to my throat and face doing anything with callouts and speaking clearly which I can’t ( most of my clan mates tell me once they get use to me they understand me better) This is going to be rough for me. I managed to get the exotic quest unlocked mostly by myself but I dread doing this on all 3 toons so not happy with Bungie not keeping those of us impaired in mind when they made this up. I definitely get your frustration, I'm primarily a solo player so I've never really done any endgame stuff. I imagine it's compounded more by the inability to communicate effectively at all times. Destiny is by design though a MMO at the end of the day. They simply can't make every facet of the game accessible to everyone. That's more of a technology thing to.overcome some of those obstacles

Good video as usual, too bad today I deleted all 3 characters, un-installed the game and asked for Steam refund. Ive played over 20k hours since D1 bur this mission was it for me. Had throat cancer 20 years ago and can't speak clear nor fast so I have 2 options...1: pay a booster to do it or quit. I chose the latter. Wish you success in your videos my guy, always had real good ones I used for solo dungeons etc.

@Davidherr1806 I completely understand where you’re coming from. 7 tours in the Middle East, combat Vet, between surgeries to my throat and face( also a dance with Cancer) I can completely understand. Been with my clan over ten yrs and I still don’t raid that often especially in these newer raids where there’s a lot of call outs and over lapping callouts. People that don’t have issues hearing and speaking rarely think about how difficult these activities are for those of us that do and can’t understand the levels of anxiety that comes with it. had that exact same thought on Datto's video, seems like the divide is between people who wore a wristwatch or grew up with analog clocks around the house and the "younger" folks who basically can't read a clock dial and insist that numbers going clockwise is not an universal worldwide convention :-)

@racheeeed - Same exact issue with a younger Discord member I ran it with. On the clock he insisted I was telling him the wrong numbers. Well, yeah, if you assume that 1 is to the upper left and I'm looking at it like a clock with 1 on the upper right.

You state towards the end that you and your partner are BOTH void shadowshot (on prismatic). How is this possible when the mission requires 1 Light and 1 Dark?

I don't know if this will work for everyone or if my game just bugged out in my favor, but DO NOT interact with that memory to get the "Savathun's envoy" buff, i just ran outside killed everything to get the subjugators to spawn and got the orbs they drop and took them back and dumped them. All without the pressure of a timer... I don't know what that buff is supposed to give you, but i solo'ed and completed the entire encounter without the timer or the buff and unlocked the mission just easy, peasy. I hope this helps someone trying to get this done...

My stupid question for the day. Do we have to do this on every character to unlock them to drop from other places? Just asking as a solo player who spent 3 days trying to get it done on just one character, between learning it and getting others that could do it.

So for the clock portion at the final boss room, are the clocks mirrored? So one sides 11 would be the other's 1? I'm not seeing any really good explanation on that part in any walkthrough video I've watched. Because I've watched one video where they said 4 was the matching number, but it would have been 8 if you were looking at the face of the clock...Why do they have to make it like that?!

Hey E, I did this solo..... that clock sav clock ended on me because I was killed but when I respawn the boys was there and I did the one ball of light dunk it then I came back damage him enough for the second...I did all this solo and it work the exotic mission came up for me. So I don't think the time matters

If you only did it on 1 character does it unlock for the other 2 or do you have to do it on ALL 3 characters.Also if I only did it on 1 charger can I just farm it on the 1 character on the pale heart.

No, it only unlocks it for the character you completed the mission on. The mission only drops the exotic for the subclass you complete it on. So complete it for EACH subclass you want the exotic for. Also as far as farming it goes, the same rule applies, you can only farm it from chests IF that character completed the mission...

My buddy got his in a chest in the coop mission descent, we tried to do it in overthrow but opened 15 chests and didnt get so we did the coop mission for the pinnacle and he got it on the first chest from first boss in that run. Of course that was after we ran the exotic mission the first time.

Bungie seems to be really catering to the elitist with expert and timers. There must be some kinda magic involved I'm missing. I have been playing for years and the guys nuking a room is perplexing. Agree, as a mostly solo player it sucks that this class item is locked behind a bunch of bullshizzery. A weapon or armor piece sure, if you don't get it, its not a big deal, but this is something all people should have access to and should be fairly easy to get so everything is somewhat balanced. Not everybody has time to play for hours with a random just to fail at the very end, fak that shite, I'll live without it.

D2 Fallout How to unlock dual destiny mission (type that into the KZbin search bar and follow his guide) No disrespect to any of the other content out there, but his video was the easiest one for me to follow. Short, to the point, and shows specific locations for everything you need to unlock the quest. Once you do, come back here because the Ebontis guide is the most user friendly that I've seen. (In my opinion)

And streamers just don't understand why people needing a one hour video to study to do a mission that doesn't last as long as the explanation on HOW to do it is a problem. This is not okay. What would be okay for a strong exotic weapon is not okay for a piece of armor that merely makes a subclass as useful as the others. It's not powerful armor. It's merely armor that has a benefit for light and a benefit for dark at the same time. It's no stronger than Inmost Light on Titan.

D2 is just a giant L at this point. The game is only for those that have no imagination, or appreciation of storytelling and dialogue. D2 game play at this point is old and tired, there is nothing really new. Destiny 3 if it ever happens should be titled 'Into the Bland." I had my day with Destiny 2 I was hoping that the Final Shape would be good, but based on the hour of cut scenes I watched, it's just so boring. And as I stated earlier, the gameplay is just more of the same, which is okay, but not good, not enough to make me want to play another 6000 hours of game time in D2. This is my last D2 comment, the game is now officially dead to me. The game always has its high of promising more than it can deliver, then D2 disappoints once again. Have fun Guardians, as I am sure you will.
