I gotta say, I love the recurring motif of the empty chalice symbolizing how, despite having more power and wealth than ever, Calus is still unfulfilled. The way he keeps glancing down towards it, expecting it to be full. But it never has anything in it, and it never will. His call for celebration goes unanswered by the Tormentors. His Shadow Legion stands silently at attention along the edges of the room. He got his power, but it's hollow. _Empty._ He has no one left to share it with. No loyalists to cheer his name. No shadows to venerate him. No servants to satiate his every desire. He is alone, trapped with everything he ever wanted.

I still felt bad for Calus, even though he wanted it. I can’t help but feel he was manipulated by the Witness/Savathûn to be in the position he was in. He just wanted to live his hedonistic life until the Witness convinced him he would be around until the final shape was formed if he just followed its instructions.

The witness doesn't care for hedonistic life yet congratulated Calus on achieving his goal. The witness is aware that he could "take". You know the witness can "take "right? So, had Calus been unwilling to get the veil as agreed upon then all he needed to do was take and impose his will on him. Anyhow the witness "take" our ghost and made contact. (I think he needed the veil to make a move in this reality to plan a "checkmate" to the gardener inside of the traveler and thus will be able to destroy humanity. We are the Traveler's last place. There are no more places to sow). We have a plan, to figure out his final checkmate from the vex machine and counter it in the last Destiny light vs dark saga: The final shape.

This crossed my mind as well, especially during the second phase of his bossfight when he yells "I am the Emperor". Calus has this image of himself as someone who has everything, but actually don't. I told my friends how it reminded me of Loki in Rick Riordan's Magnus Chase series - the way he is defeated there is in a verbal standoff, by telling him that he is nobody and has no one else at his side. He's sad, lonely and despised by everyone, without the belonging and camaraderie that the main characters have.

yeah that was a massive disappointment to me, massive ship lands on a city and we don't even get to get it. Insread we were in a drop pod with no view outside and all the happened was it glowed a bit before was spawn on a roof, they should've done something similar to Halo 3 ODST, that has one of the best openings in a game. let us see the reveal as it happens not just oh we're in a city. Also it really bugs me how no one ever questions anyone on Neptune as to what they've been doing, they make multiple references to past and current events in the galaxy so they knew what was happening yet no one is interested in talking about the fact that there was an entirely new society here thee whole time its just accepted like and oh ok and moved on

Having completed this now, I really do get the impression that The Witness made Calus as more of a tool than anything - to secure the Veil and nothing more. Like it whispered to Eramis (in Plunder) to find Darkness relics and use them to try and destroy the Traveller/Great Machine; in her eyes it would be revenge for it abandoning her race. Then again, that begs the question of what the Disciples of the Witness are exactly. They follow its leadership and teachings, and are committed to helping them bring about the Final Shape. But I notice a lore book found in Root of Nightmares (Inspiral, The Cave) suggesting that each Disciple has their own interpretation of what it entails, possibly because they believe they do not have the 'capacity' to understand The Witness's true vision of the Final Shape. We had Rhulk who played a key role in the creation of the Hive, Nezarec who led the Black Fleet to cause Earth's Collapse, and now Calus who was sent to Neptune to retrieve the Veil. But by becoming a Disciple himself, Calus is still hollow and empty. He has everything he wants, and yet he is still nothing. His body language in the cutscenes show it. He wants his followers, his cheers, his parades, his banquets, everything. Almost hard not to feel sorry for him, but this was something he brought on himself. What I want to see in The Final Shape expansion is not conventional seasons, like we've recently had, but instead it be split into parts. We would pay for the expansion in one go, and we'd be drip-fed the final chapter as time goes by. This would not only let Bungie be far more creative with the end story and not be constrained by strict 12-week deadlines, but give far more of a finality to the long saga. I mean given that it is the final expansion, who is to say that it can last longer than a year, like the others had? The expansion having 4 random seasons about this that and the other, doesn't quite sit right with me. Then when it is all done, Bungie can spend the time they desperately need to expand the Destiny universe in a future game with a more up-to-date game engine. PS, I only just found out that the Witness's main voice is the guy who played Grant Ward in Agents of SHIELD. There are apparently multiple voices that overlap to give that sound effect we hear as it speaks; similar to how we all heard different voices when Riven spoke to us in the Last Wish raid.

0/10, even the most loving Destiny fans that have played from the beginning agree that starting it as a new player is TERRIBLE. Many have even made alternate accounts to try it out and it's damn near unplayable. Not to mention, EVERYONE is upset right now at how bad this DLC is, not to mention how it's been 5 years basically since the last time we got a good expansion. Destiny is also the greediest game I've ever played when it comes to monetization. So it really is just good to not try and get into playing it really. Hell, I finally managed to convince myself to stop buying it even after playing it since the beta of the first game and getting all the collector's editions.

I've even started playing Destiny 1 again and it really is just still better than Destiny 2 imo. Plus, yeah, you can just get the full version with all 3 years for just $60 (without sale) and have everything available to you. No nickle and diming.

So this sphere of light, aka the Terraforming Traveler, is a Paracausal entity containing a piece/strand of the darkness (a tetrahedron pyramid) within it’s core. A notion, I hypothesized, when the traveler threw off the chains of the red Legion and incidentally alerted the ‘darkness’ tetrahedron ships to its coordinates. I guess the real question is, how will this change its ‘final shape’? will the traveler transform itself? will the Traveler be modified? will the tetrahedron pyramid be extracted?

Our guardian is still linked to the Shard of the Traveler. The shard was struck off of the Traveler because the final shape had begun to take form on it. That explains why we are able to control darkness abilities like stasis, strand and deep sight. The reason why the witness can control the ghost is because the witness is still linked to the Shard of the Traveler.
