I’ve always wondered what the ghosts of controversial Guardians think about their Guardians. How does Sagira feel about Osiris pinning the deaths of millions if not billions on her Dad/ Mom? How does Efrideet’s ghost feel about refusing to fight the darkness? The Sunbreakers’ ghosts and their mercenary Guardians? The dark Guardians?
@HisRoyalStignes7 жыл бұрын
Be Great see, as a ghost, picking your guardian is somewhat like tinder. If you don't match, you won't agree on certain points and therefore the ghost and guardian wouldn't be together anyway. However if they do, then they'll likely support their guardians ambitions. Although we all know that Sagitta picked Osiris for the booty

I get what you saying and I feel it's sort of like partnerships of cops(Might not always agree but what they do they do together, mostly?). I feel in general atleast from the few relationships of ghost and guardian we've seen that in general the guardian is like the senior of the partners and the ghost (sometimes reluctantly) goes with what ever the guardian does. This is rather weird when it seems I ghost does all the talking for us 😅 . In terms of the cop partners metaphor that might also explain it in that both the ghost and the guardian are exposed to the same experiences and would likely discuss it among them selves thus generally coming to simular points of view on the topic. That's my view. Would be interesting to see a case where a ghost is strong willed enough to decide to leave their guardian.

Question did the cult of osiris make the Egyptian style Armour and weapons based on what the Osiris warlock looked like, or was it to get ready to fight the vex like intergalactic space police ?! Or was it because we die so many times in the trials to activate the towers on Mercury the cult based it of the dead aka mummys ?! Ive been fascinated by this

Wait I just realized: I remember back in the "Full Story of Destiny" video that Byf made had a quote about Osiris and the Battle of The Six Fronts. It said something about Osiris seeming to be fighting at multiple places at once. Could he have been creating reflections of himself to fight?

The connection between Osiris and the exo stranger are getting stronger. I'm starting to think that she comes to those who hold historical significance and show them a path that leads to a satisfactory outcome. A vex column that you can inspect on nessus that if your character is exo as my hunter is, your ghost informs you that the column shorted out once it realized your race and makes a question of would exo's and vex have a relation to one another.

I feel a disturbing symmetry, wherein the followers of Osiris would speak for Osiris even without his approval as would the Speaker would speak for the Traveler that was in a form of stasis and does not communicate with him (as he later tells Ghaul). And how clever of Bungie to write off the Speaker as the Traveler awakes. Or did the Speaker survive and resumed a normal life now that the Traveler is awake and that he is no longer needed. Arrgghh! This is killing me!

$20 is more than enough for story DLC that lasts more than 90 minutes. Bungie just needs to flesh out the entire campaign system. It should be far more than just get in, plug your ghost on a door, get out. There should be NPCs that fight along side you, dynamic battlefields similar to the Inverted Spire with the Cabal and Vex, and so on.

Then in DLC 1 we are guided by Ikora - as well as getting character development for her. It would make sense if Cayde was the story vendor for the next DLC and it would make sense for him getting development in a Rasputin/ClovisBray dlc.

I'm loving this, just like the Overwatch web comics, more lore is always great. But I don't think it will be a 3 part story, if it is then I don't want it to be. Cause just with these characters alone the twilight gap should take a couple comics, The Queen of the Reef's part should take most if not all of one comic if indeed Osiris and Eris went to her with a proposition, and by doing this they open the doors to expand on the characters that we will see in this comics. So I honestly believe its going to be very well like the overwatch web comics, they will keep coming telling all these stories and hopefully this means they are aiming for a book of two of Destiny.

Here is a question. The radialarian fluid looks awfully similar to the (for lack of a better word) “traveler’s juice” when we go to places like Io or to the woods to unlock subclasses. Could the Vex be a race of synthetics that was “uplifted” by the traveler? Could the radialarian fluid be some form of “traveler juice” derivative? Could it be that we find a similar connection to the traveler with the cabal? Could it be that the traveler is attempting to “uplift” sentients throughout the cosmos because outside the influence of its light it has no tangible means of defense? I know these are irrelevant questions to the video but Osiris has a way of making one look at pieces of the puzzle differently.

This is definitely one of the reasons why I always referred to you and myelin games as far as my best to lore enthusiasts and this one being case in point for you anyway. Plus the river metaphor it's something I would simplify as Multiverse Theory. While there is one version of a timeline there is always another and another, to where it ends up becoming infinite very quickly For instance there's always one version of a timeline and then as I mentioned becomes an infinite endless possibilities of other timelines where as you mentioned in this video the Vex are looking for a path where they win.

Hey Byf, got a few questions. Is there any indication that the vex have infected other solar systems beyond Sol? Or do the vex go where the hive go? Is Sol the primary focal point for the vex, or just a peripheral focus on their inexhaustible march towards the completion of the pattern? Has the dark future Osiris predicted already come to pass in those other galaxies? Would the cabal strategy of blowing up moons and planets (in already lost galaxies) be a more effective strategy against the planet machine minds, and destroying them would be similar to killing geth in Mass Effect (damaging their calculation processing power, so to speak)? Also, could places like the infinite forest or black garden or the vog be accessed from other locations in the galaxy, if vex exist in those locations? Just curious, really haven't seen much history of the vex outside of their origin with Crota and everything we see with their presence within Sol.

Thank you for yet another great video, Byf! I very much enjoyed the comic, and I think that, when combined with the Expansion Story Missions, does an excellent job of humanizing the man/legend that is Osiris. As a Warlock-main and an avid lore scholar for the Destinyverse, I understand Osiris's all consuming thoughts on the fate of humanity. I will also admit that the Vex are likely the most concerning threat we've faced in-system so far (though I suspect that when those black pyramid ships arrive I might reassess that analysis). However I still feel as though Osiris is foolish/reckless in his pursuit of the threats he faced. I feel that his best interests would've been to speak with Guardians on the topic, to involve the Vanguard in this threat. I feel like he made the Vex his personal albatross to bear, and to me that feels dangerously egotistical. And clearly his unwillingness to cooperate with the other Guardians/convince them of the threat the city faced in the Vex has caused more harm than good. I feel he could've avoided this if he had sat down with the original Vanguard and the Speaker/Consensus on the matter, instead of dismissing them out of hand and assuming sole responsibility over the greatest threat facing humankind. At least that's my take. I still love the story, though. And I empathize far more with Osiris than I ever have, so if Bungie's objective was to make him empathetic, they've succeeded. Keep up the great work, my fellow Warlock. And thank you as always for the excellent lore vids.

I dunno, it's just something I noticed, and something that kinda bugged me

Anyone notice that Andal Brask (sorry if I misspelled his name) is wearing the exact same hunter outfit that Cayde wears in the game? I thought that was a cool way to show how Cayde sees his duty as the current Vanguard for the Hunters. He not only wears the cloak of his dead friend, but the whole outfit. On another note, the actions of the Speaker are, as you said "very interesting," though I am hesitant to call him power-hungry. I think he made a mistake that is tragically common among rulers who live in times of desperation. He saw Osiris' 'prophesies' as a threat to the well-being of the people, at a time when humanity already had (and still has) more than it's fair share of enemies hellbent on its annihilation. That said, neither party was blameless, the Speaker was acting like a dictator, but Osiris' neglect of his duties and his underestimation of the Cult led to the City nearly destroying itself. If humanity is to survive, it must be weary of both future AND present dangers.

I love this comic. I hope there's some sort of mention about sagurias future. I'm of the belief that the Exo Stranger is her, in a future where Osiris was defeated or not exiled (but forced to abandon his research) and the Vex were on their way to securing victory. until WE were awakened, if our characters are this important to the story, it would make sense that She'd use Osiris' tech to travel back to times we overcame the Vex, started interfering their quest for galactic domination. I wonder if every one understands that, ours enemies are forever linked to the legendary figures that had come up throughout the game. Toland is was obsessed with The Hive and their Throne Worlds. Saint-14, went after the Fallen and headbutted the shit out of a Kell, killing it. Osiris latched on to the Vex (which in my opinion, is probably our 2nd greatest threat) and began exploring their simulations to find out a way to defeat them, at the cost of his Rep and Title. Cabal were mostly a Speaker problem, he was "our Leader" that made him a target for another empire (The Cabal) an Empire which is led by a thing that wants us to join him in fighting the true enemy? (Game Show Raid). All that leaves is the Darkness. We've seen and heard so many stories about this sweeping dark force that silenced an entire Solar System but not once have we actually seen anything definitive about their existence. Im hoping the Comics and the next expansion actually answer some of these questions. I want to know why Saint-14 is floating in what seems like a tomb (like the Vex seen him as a worthy opponent and decided to lay him to rest so to speak. I want to know what became of Toland. So many answers that Bungie has taken a long time to start revealing to us. I cant Wait, and keep up the great work Byf, I always reference you and your breakdowns when talking lore with my friends. have a Happy Holidays man. hope the new year treats you good.

The Speaker was a dictator of sorts, with Saint 14 his mindless brute, they stood for control, safety and cautiousness, Osiris saw value in free thought, criticism, study and understanding and saw the bigger picture when nobody else did, I’d definitely be part of the Osiris cult.

Could it be possible that sagira is the exo stranger? Since the exo stranger can teleport like our ghosts and so far has had a couple of comments leading to some sort of relationship to Osiris

Hey I have a quick question I hope this reaches you! This may seem silly, but does Callus know about Oryx and his 2 sisters?

Honestly, I want to point to something Act Man stated in his review of Halo 5's campaign, where he basically said that with things like Halo and Destiny, in order to gain any understanding of what's going on, you have to do your homework (i.e. reading the books or grimoire). I personally believe external lore like this works best as sort of a side-dish to the main course which is the game itself (if you grasp my metaphor). Ultimately, I just don't want it to continue being that if you want to understand what's going on, you have to look up a book or comic instead of the game itself telling a detailed and engaging story. That said, it's still a pretty good comic, and I'm interested to see where it goes.

Is it possible that Osiris and the exo-stranger are one in the same? They both use some of the same key phrases in dialogue. ‘Little light’ ‘my path is my own’. Could Osiris in his research through the Infinite Forrest seen how important our guardian was for the future of mankind that he popped in (in disguise as the exo stranger) to lend us a hand when it was needed? Hence why the stranger ‘didn’t have time to explain’ ??

I gave up on destiny. But I can’t give up on the lore, and I thank you for that.

This comic also highlights the damage the 'Speaker' did to the city and the tower, the Vanguard don't know how to find their own asses, the factions are trying to consolidate what they can under their respective banners, the Drifter moved in. Honestly its a mess, but its a NEEDED one, i never really trusted the speaker in D1 just due to the amount of information he chose not to give us, this pretty much shows he was an old man wanting everyone around him to protect him and what he thought.
