Yeah I remember one of those lore pages is about a hive light bearer who kills a guardian and hesitates to kill their ghost, and is actually being peer pressured by his own ghost to kill it. Without a worm to feed and without any memory of their violent past life, nothing inherently forces a hive light bearer to commit evil acts (other than savathun or immaru) commanding them

We've worked with the Vex before when the Taken invaded the Vault of Glass in Taken King. The Vex understood that the only thing that could stop the Taken were Guardians and, in their weird Vex way, asked us for help. If the Vex believe that the only way to survive is to ally themselves with us, they will.

I think the three races that we'll be allied with are the Eliskni, Caital's Cabal legion, and possibly Savathûn and her Lucent Brood. If you remember back to the interior of the Io Pyramid at the end of Season Of Arrivals, us and the other three races that I mentioned were shown in there. At first we didn't understand why, but now I totally believe that Bungie has been hinting at this grand alliance since before the release of Beyond Light!😳😁👍🏼

I think it’s simple, it’s going to be familial combat. Mara versus crow, caital versus her father and xivu vs savathun rasputin vs vex… everything‘s looking like a giant Civil War. So no matter if we win or not everybody is going to come out broken…. Unless the key is somehow going back in time and stopping the fall from ever happening. We could go back and fight the witness and save earth. I think that’s what Rasputin’s plan is. I think the big twist about the witness randomly leaving last time is that we went back in time and stopped him.

What the K1 artifact *did* lead him to was what became Clarity Control: the big darkness statue/entity within the Deep Stone Crypt raid. I believe he got further visions from it that led him to begin construction of the Vex gate. But take this with a grain of salt; it’s been a while since I’ve read the BL collector’s edition lore, so I could be off here.

My hope for the story is that: The witness picks 4 new disciples, calus, xivu, eramis and some vex (quaria would have been cool, but I guess not anymore). Then the lightfall and final shape campaigns and seasonal stories will have us fighting witness aligned factions of all 4 of the original d1 enemy races, whilst having our own alliances at the same time

Those on the side of the Witness: Other Vex, mostly from the Sol Progeny (Black Garden Vex), Calus, Eramis, Xivu Arath, Clovis Bray, The Awoken of the Distributary (either willing or Taken), and Lysandre and the Concordat. 7 factions. Two sides. One Final Shape.

19:58 I think this is where Saint-14 comes into play, as well as Saladin. Saint spent such a long time fighting against the Eliksni, but never saw them as an enemy or a threat during the buildup with the house of light. He has the ability to look at every enemy we've fought against and go "This is not the time for fighting amongst each other, there is a greater good we must uphold." I personally think that is where he'll stand at the end of it all. Saladin on the other hand, hates the hive. He's a strong believer that they're all monsters, and yet he joins up with the cabal to help crow come into his own. I think his new stance within Caitl's legion will help change his tune, and come out and say "I used to think all hive were mindless beasts. Now I see that this can be used as a tool for the light, rather than a tool for the dark" or something along those lines. Those two characters have such an interesting arc that I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't include them getting involved in bringing the other alien races together to defeat the witness.

I saw a Reddit post pointing out the thousands of statues you can see in the communion mission lining the floor of the pyramid. I hope there is no alliance with the vex. Like we are connected to Asher but that is 1 person (2 if you count that one captain) so I don’t see how we would in the first place. As well, aren’t both of them harpies? If we were connected to a gate lord somehow, then maybe, but even then I doubt it. Another part is that in The Final Shape, I believe the enemies will be the vex (if not a new enemy type) since the vex were always the final shape until the light and dark started messing around.

So here are my thoughts. Vex: When we killed Quria, we severed the control that Savathun was exercising over the vex. How deep did this influence go? And how long has it been going on? What if the vex as a collective, now free from outside influence are now fundamentally different? Hive: Our seasonal mission involves us going into the minds of Hive to sever Savathun’s controlling influence. But what if that influence us much more fundamental then we assume it is? What if it’s basically brainwashing designed to keep her empowered hive brood in line? A light bearer hive who can think for itself might not necessarily see us as the enemy. We already know of one hive who refused to destroy a guardian’s ghost. I have other thoughts but those two things get me thinking the most. Let me know if I’m off the wall here.

Why so skeptical of Savathun being a potential ally? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, no? 1 - Savathun hates the Witness and has been trying to undermine him for centuries. She risked capture and death at the hands of Guardians and the Awoken just for a chance at discarding her Worm and the logic of the Deep. It was also partly thanks to her deceptions that the Traveller was able to actually win that first confrontation with the Black Fleet during the Collapse 2 - Savathun is a Light-Bearer now. For all intents and purposes, the Traveler is the only known source of Light in the universe, and thus the only source of Savathun’s new powers. She NEEDS the Traveler to survive this fight against the Witness, or she’ll be backed into a corner. Point is, Savathun may not be in it to help Humanity but she has every reason to help defend the Traveller in her own ways. Add this to the revelation of the Hive’s twisted fate, and The Lucent Brood may very well be inclined to side with us. This is no longer a war of Light vs Dark or Humanity vs Aliens. This is a war for survival against an encroaching wave of extinction.

But, I can see us being able to play as a vandal with two arms, perhaps as a result of being reborn through the light. Also, yes to being able to play as a Krill Acolyte. That just sounds awesome. But also, I would love to see us having a sort of vex hobgoblin to play with. Each faction would also have access to some...unique weaponry. And unique gameplay styles. Guardians as we know them will fall. And we need to start a new era. One of new warriors.

I can see Crow attempting to right Uldren's wrongs by swaying Fikrul to lead an open rebellion. I can also see Asher and the Vex intervening to our mutual benefit. I can see Savathun siding with us if only to get to her sister. I can see Spider lending some of his mercenaries to our aid. I can also see Eramis rebelling against the Witness after learning of it's finality. I think we have a lot more allies in the Sol system than we realize, even if they're only temporary ones

Not to be a spoil sport but I very much doubt it, just including one alien race would straight up *double* the resources Bungie would need to commit to armor design. I frankly can't see Bungie bloating it's costs for what ultimately is an aesthetic gimmic with a wow factor of about a month or two.

Honestly, I'm wondering what role Eris is going to play in all of this. We have a woman who can use Hive magic, dresses like them, and looks kinda like one with the three eyes. I find it odd that none of these Hive beings, Savathun included have even mentioned her, or upset that she can use their powers. Do you think Bungie will have her betray us in one of these DLC? The dark future she does, she becomes corrupt from the artifact in the pyramid. I just have this feeling that Bungie is going to have someone betray us at some point. My money is on Eris, her role in the witch Queen seems really small, but she's the most qualified to go up against the hive, it's seems like they're saving her for something big. Just my opinion.

What also deserves some light is the prophecy in Rhulk’s ship where it says that the hive and scorn love the darkness. There is still the possibility of Savathun and the Fanatic to join the side of the light but it would appear (if the prophecy is true) that a majority of the taken, hive and scorn will be on the side of the witness and the majority of the Fallen, Cabal, and Awoken (maybe even vex?) will be on the side of the Traveller

That final bit where byf says we escalated it and the witness could respond with more ferocity is actually a fantastic point, we're the first being in the history of forever, to kill a disciple, and so the witness realizes that there is a force of tremendous power in the light, and that if he wishes to achieve his goal, hell have to work harder, and even go as far as to try and kill us before achieving his goal. We're the reason things are getting worse, actively causing chain reactions that could spell doom for entire branches of reality, we destroyed the black heart, which healed the traveler, we killed crota, which summoned oryx, we killed oryx, which sent savathun into hiding, we destroyed the devil splicers and the house of wolves, which fractured the last of the fallen houses, which ultimately lead to the kells scourge, house of light, and house of darkness/salvation. We caused ghaul to arrive by exterminating the skyburners aboard the dreadnought, ghaul then awakened the traveler, which called the darkness, and after that we freed Osiris, who freed saint-14, and we killed xol and nokris, which freed nokris when he was resurrected, and then decided to work for savathun, after that the traveler healed as the darkness stole planets, then we freed savathun, which in turn gave her the light, then we killed her, which gave rhulk the means to escape the throne world, and then we killed rhulk which probably signaled to the witness that we really want a war. Every action we've made since the beginning caused a reaction that plunged the system into further chaos, we're the reason for the new collapse. Sorry for the paragraph and a half.

One thing does come to mind in all this, and that is Imaru himself. he speaks to you directly on several Patrol missions, and sure, he may be directing one enemy towards another to have them wipe one another out, but there are times when he comes off as if he knows you won't fall. To me, it seems that he is testing you, and it is likely this is at Savathun's bidding he does this. You can usually tell when he is addressing you personally by the tone he uses and how "false" he sounds, as if he is trying to hide the fact he's talking to you. Have a good listen to the patrol dialogues. Sure, I may be reading more into it than is actually there, but that's the impression I am left with.

I can see them being neutral-positive in the future. Especially if Drifter and saladin can successfully negotiate peace. Bonus if we can restore them from being "Hive" back to the Krill. As we succeeded in assisting Mithrax in bringing the House of Light to life. I think that the Krill can also work on a new faction. Led by a freed Krill Wizard, who is taking the "Hive" magic, and trying to purify it through the light. Which could lead to some, very cool results. Imagine taking the weapons of sorrow and managing to reverse their corruption. Bringing about architecture and design that looks closer to that of the Krill. Long before the hive worms corrupted them. Imagine the sort of majesty and construction that could come about. The art team would have a whole new setup to work with!

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned, but in the throne world right now we have champion skorne who are titled “the fanatic’s chosen” or something like that. And we saw previous lore that showed that the skorne have not responded well to seeing Crow. I think as a whole they are fully aligned with the witness.

I think the Vex are an interesting case as they read the timelines and saw the danger they were in as soon as Clovis connected with them. It doesn't seem like much of a reach to think that some amount of them will align with Sol's interest to maintain autonomy and survive especially if Asher is acting as something of a diplomat. He actually seems like the best mind to have to interact with the vex in that case.
