"Smollen" assumes that they are Smol Fallen, though. Which in one sense, they are, but in another, their nascent alliance with the current stewards of the Traveler means they are rising again. Therefore, they're not Smol Fallen but Lil Eliksni. Or Liliksni for short.

Well we’re definitely allying with the Eliksni but the Cabal is a bit of a far cry from Alliance. We are currently at an Armistice with the Cabal Empire, but that might change when Savathūn finally shows up.

Mithrax has had missions with us and lore building up for 3 years of content and has been behind the scenes in beyond light. If Bungie continues his story. If I remember correctly we defeated Skolas only after he did something with vex tech. Its highly possible Skolas gave up in our first timeline because he already succeeded in being in multiple timelines later.

It's highly unlikely Misraaks (or, Mithrax in our tongue) would personally be responsible for Skolas getting into the Vault of Glass. From what I remember about Misraaks, he had not been closely tied to the House of Wolves since he was captured by Sjur and subsequently shown mercy. He seemed to travel with her for the remaining days of the Reef Wars (I could be wrong about that). However, with the mastery over technology possessed by the Sacred Splicers, it is almost guaranteed that if not Misraaks himself, some other Wolf Splicer was responsible for getting Skolas into the Vault of Glass.

He's a fascinating character and imagine if by Witch Queen or Lightfall we have a wing of the tower with Eliksni refuges. Heck, some of the images on the Season of the Splicer page make it look like they'll be some Eliksni influence added to the HELM.

God I still remember the end of the quest on Titan. I was very new to the game and was only thinking about how disgusting I thought the Hive was despite watching the Knight and Mithrax go at it for a minute or two. So I haphazardly killed the Knight while trying not to hit Mithrax and was very surprised and pleased that I didn't have to fight him too. Needless to say, I was very excited when I found out he was in the cellar at the Farm even though Zero Hour was the bane of my existence (I love Outbreak though. Ironically it carried me through a good portion of the Beyond Light campaign while I was underleveled and I am VERY excited to finally get the catalyst).

The once-dreg drinks the strange drink, taking in the gift from a random guardian who had thought to thank her for her hard work. Variks was in the building behind her, she had come to enjoy the small room with the human toys, and this drink warmed her as it fizzled in her mouth. She had grown with the ether-gifts that her patron had scavenged from the Reef and Riis-Reborn for her. She had proven herself and earned the guardian's trust, and with it earned both ether and weapons to protect herself. Her days were spent with scouting, placing beacons, and protecting Variks should a stray Vex or pike patrol come this way, though the guardians do it themselves more often than not. She had even gotten the hang of their strange language without need of a translator, Variks was useful in that regard. "Resting on the job?" A voice came from behind her, she turned and saw the sly one and the guardian that roped her into all of this. The sly one sat down next to her and looked at the gift. "Oooh, I'd kill for some soda right now." "Then go home and get some." The warlock said, they both wore helmets but she could hear the smile in his voice. The hunter looked back and laughed. "Like I'd let a warlock get a step ahead of a hunter during the Guardian Games." The contest of the guardians had drawn many of them to the planet. She remembered similar contests among the old houses. She lifted the drink as she had seen guardians do, "May best of you win." The Warlock nodded. "We will." To which the hunter laughed and walked away, the large one was behind them holding one of the toys. "And to you." She said to the titan. The warlock and hunter looked between each other and laughed, the titan's shoulders slumped. The once-dreg got a feeling that the titan-house was having difficulty in their contest. Then the warlock tossed a transponder to her, on it was a symbol, the symbol of House Light. She looked up to him, expectantly. He nodded. "It's time, Athryx. It's time."

the Splicers are a worldbuilding retcon added in Rise of Iron, each Eliksni House having harbored them. Since Mithrax was originally from House of Wolves, it is possible that Skolas had access to Mithrax' expertise on splicing Vex tech, & maybe thats how Skolas was able to pull his Wolves across time. Maybe Skolas' Splicers were armed with House of Winter's Splicers & their intel on the Vex, since they were stationed on Venus, salvaging Golden Age resources from Ishtar.

I also didn't kill Mithrax on my first try. I didn't hesitate to put that's knight down. The Eliksni have been my favorite race in destiny from the start. And to have the choice to spare one gave me hope that we'd one day see some as allies. And we did! Now I hope we can play as an Eliksni in the future

Its always interesting to see that I made a good choice from the beginning of things lol. I saw Eliksni or as I knew them then Fallen and was intrigued by them as a new player to the Destiny franchise with Destiny 2. I chose to help the Fallen Captain at that time and killed the Hive cause well... Hive seem like a greater threat than Fallen to me at the time and still do. So Im glad that I was able to make the correct choice and now get to team up with the Eliksni Captain that I spared/saved that day.

Surprised you didn’t bring up the Truth lore tab (which is from his perspective) or mention when Variks said he died but came back to life. Otherwise, good summary of Mithrax. Can’t wait to learn more about my boy. It also makes me wonder if a Sacred Splicer possibly has a connection to role of the Speaker. Otherwise, a really good summary.

In my first playthrough I spared Mithrax. I honestly was quite happy when Ghost 'accidently' freed Mithrax when he was trapped.

I really want to meet Mithraax's fireteam too - I really like the idea that he's made a fireteam family with some of us. Also lorewise it shows that Guardians are not a rigidly factional as we like to think they are. I like to imagine even non-guardians already befriending random splinter Eliksni groups in the EDZ and starting to trade or work together.

I hope we get to meet some Eliksni in-person in the next season. Every time we've seen them in the past, it's been a strenuous relationship based purely on mutual benefit. I wanna get to talk to that family that were following Mithraks/Misraaks in the trailer: Eliksni who are proper allies and friends, rather than shady business partners.

You made a video a long time ago about how grimdark Destiny is, Byf, and I have to say that Eliksni docking is something that I find to be EXTREMELY grimdark. Literally having your arms ripped out of their sockets to denote punishment and your place in the hierarchy.

Something I’ve been thinking about since the reveal of the new season is how Mithrax being a splicer could be a means for him to eventually wield the light. Like, maybe he’s able to work with the Cabal tech that powered the Cage and the light suppression device from this season to harness the light for his own use. Just a thought I’ve been spinning
