To me, Ghaul will always be a sad reminder of what could have been. Ghaul was almost certainly the Witness' preferred choice for a Disciple, but we denied him that, so he settled for Calus.

He seems like a relatively small villain now that we have seen the Witness and faced against the disciples...but I don't think nothing ever comes quite close to the feeling we all go seeing this man simply impose his will and take the light by force.
