ya made me remember that on hl2, the very first levels loading zones actually have *earlier iterations of the beggining of the next level* which uses different textures and a slightly different layout. going into that kind of load zone always makes me wonder if theres earlier versions of the previous zone hidden away on the backdrop or something. like how people somehow discovered the galaxy pools which tbh is the most prime example of what i just tried to say something forgot by time and by the devs themselves its purpose, or the iron forest loadzone which crashes the game on neesus. like why they dont clean that up? its literally wasted HD space for a lot of people lol.

iron forest doesnt crash the game, it doesnt even have a load trigger. The load was datamined and it's completely empty. Also the loads existing isnt what takes up space, its the texture files. So deleting the load would have a near unnoticeable effect on the game size

@@moegorandom7330 i never talked about the loadzones themselves being heavy, i talking about the existence of the maps like niobe labs still being in the game taking space on a small zone that no fucking one can enter without bugging. while bungie bitches non stop about "file size too big" and does JACK SHIT to remove old red war areas that are unnacesible anymore from the game.
