Well tbf neither Overload or Unstoppable actually require their respective mods to kill and depending on your dmg output and content difficulty you can skip the barriers too. And honestly I have never seen a barrier champ outside master and GM content drop its barrier multiple times unless people ignore it or are fucking around.

So a few things he didn't mention: Fatebringer - If you have a explosive payload and frenzy roll, you can pair that with a minor spec and one shot red bars if you get a crit. If you get a thresh and firefly roll, the kills from the firefly explosion can proc thresh. Vision of Confluence - Specifically for a Verity's Brow build on warlock, you can get Wellspring and Thresh together which is amazing. Hezen Vengeance - Ehroar actually just posted about this today, but you can get Overflow and Demolitionist to be able to fire 4 rockets back-to-back if you spec into it. Gets even crazier if you have heavy ammo packs laying on the ground.

Surplus is honestly one of my favorite perks in Beyond Light. The reload/handling/stability boost feels massive when you have all three abilities charged and even when you just have two, and has zero downside (if you somehow don't have any abilities charged, it's just the base weapon you'd have without Surplus). Great utility perk, especially in the wake of things like outlaw and feeding frenzy getting nerfed, though I could see it being more valuable on console than PC (I'm on Playstation), and more valuable on a Hunter, perhaps, which I main (I don't go nuts with ability builds, I prefer to maximize my add-slaying via weapons). That said, I'm actually pretty happy anytime I see a content creator saying it's meh - better chance it won't get targeted for nerfs.

I never used to like surplus until I pulled out my bottom dollar the other day in VoG to see what it was like against overloads and void shields and I was shocked after my first kill when I reloaded and the reload speed was rapid, I didn’t even know why I had to recheck the perk and realised surplus was doing it

@@MakinaMakinaMakina Right? I find it really impactful on hand cannons and also SMGs (makes a 900rpm like Stochastic Variable feel like Recluse, with the boosts to reload and stability). This sounds counter-intuitive, but I have a couple weapons I love with surplus in the third slot and wellspring in the fourth - seems like they would cancel each other out, but I think the synergy is great. Wellspring keeps you topped off on surplus' full buff more of the time and also means you can use your abilities more often with minimal penalty. For weapons without impactful damage perks in the last column, like High Albedo, I absolutely love this roll. Stochastic Variable can roll multi kill clip in the last column, which I'd love to snag at some point, but in the meantime I'm loving surplus/wellspring on that one as well.

Big fan of surplus here, only real downside in my opinion is the consistency since your muscle memory could be different for each level of the perk. This is more of a PvP specific issue though

i’ve got a found verdict with barrel shroud, handling masterwork, accurized with slide shot and opening shot. it feels so much better that felwinters. i don’t have to worry about saving my abilities to help out my survivability. it’s handling is spectacular with all things considered, with great range

Surplus is a godly perk and I think a lot of people undervalue it. It increases 3 stats at all times with no effort on your part. I prefer it greatly to perks like outlaw, feeding frenzy, even rapid hit. Do not sleep on it, it's great on the vision of confluence and just about any other gun that can roll it.

Not even a mention for Impulse Amplifier on the rockets huh? Having high velocity is another way of making sure your shot hits its mark (gives the enemy less time to dodge), but also that reload perk makes rockets feel more bearable if you're sitting there just trying to unload one on a boss or something. I never tried the perk until I got it on a Hezen Vengeance this season, but it feels pretty good, imo.

Using Osmosis is beneficial with Sunbreaker with Path of Burning Steps. Being able to get a damage bonus plus creating sunspots and then create warmind cells off of the spots is top tier to me.

I got the Tracking/Lasting Impressions roll on the Hezen Vengeance, and I've gotta say it's pretty spicy. I really enjoy it. Explosive Payload/Firefly on the Fatebringer is also a hell of a lot of fun on my Warlock with Chromatic Fire.

I really feel like VOG primary weapons are in a very good state rn, rolls with rewind rounds and frenzy or firefly for the vision of confluence and fatebringer are amazing! Of course the ones that tryuly shine for me are Praedyth and Hezen. The weapons that are lacking in perk variety or uniqueness are Garden of salvation weapons imo. I could also say the same for some Last wish weapons though.

Osmosis is not only useful in singe strike playlists, its god-roll perk for LLS or any loadout locked content match games as it allows to cover all three element shields in weapons. Now that it includes stasis its gonna be indispensable in stasis singe.

Thresh basically seems to be exclusively for Nezarec warlock builds, maybe stareater hunters now. On it's own it doesn't do much, but on something that can get kills quickly and generate orbs, the difference in super cooldown is palpable.

My go-to fatebringer has been thresh and firefly (even tho I have killclip explosive payload). Its so good in vog with all the adds, especially in oracles/the spires encounter.

Firefly on the machine gun works surprisingly well as an ammo efficiency measure. Idk if the damage scales with the weapon like Dragonfly did but it sure feels like it, and the explosion ends up clearing enough adds to save ammo.

My Corrrective Measure has Feeding Frenzy/Thresh, and it's really good for spamming supers and getting them back with the minute. I was sleeping on it till this drop, and I do highly recommend Thresh to anyone who likes to spamming multiple supers. Still looking for it on my Fatebringer

I cannot stress the degree to which Visions has always been my favorite gun in Destiny since I got it. It made be a believer in scouts in D1 and I was jazzed it was coming back in D2. And I love, love , love that the gun still FEELS good in D2. It feels amazing to shoot and I'll be using it in D2 as much as I can stomach. I Say Stomach because GOOD GOD SCOUTS STILL SUCK. Almost nothing in Destiny ruins my enjoyment more than how inoptimal Scouts are in almost all activities , especially as a PVP main. The gun feels good to use, but 55 to the head and 35 to the body is unacceptable for prescision scouts to me. I'm tired of the excuse that scouts are safe as every primary, even autos get at least 1 or 2 seasons to shine. As Handcannons do 90+ to the head at pulse ranges and pulses fast firing pulses encraoch on Auto range. Even High Impact Autos are doing full damage out at 30+ meters. But Scouts can't be strong, or even good, because they are safer in content where they don't do enough damage to even justify their use. I hate it and it ruins the game for scout mains like me. At least deadmans exists i guess. Love that gun even if it's a 120 Hand cannon disguised as Scout. I just wish more than a handful of exotic scouts were good. Makes me sad.

Have on Energy Accelerant, chuck a solar grenade to trigger osmosis, start popping heads for big firefly explosion, watch the sunspots appear. At least I hope it works that way...

I have an Overflow/Lasting Impression Hezen Vengeance and I never found it difficult to stick something that I wasn't trying to cross-map like the Walker in Sepiks. Stun, immediately switch to rocket, make sure you're within like 10 meters, ADS and fire, book it out of the blast zone. The stun effect might wear off by the time it explodes, but those things hurt anyway.

If machine guns ever get a buff, I would hold on to a Rewind + HIR corrective measure, as you can fire 100+ rounds easily and have ~50 of those or more doing HIR damage.

Wellspring thresh on vision is actually really good, only weapon that can roll wellspring in the first column. Pair it with mantle of battle harmony on any solar subclass and you got yourself a super and ability battery. Still suffers from being a 180 tho
