It originally wasn’t meant to be. The original vision for destiny was a less grindy “live service” game and more of an open world co-op RPG. Think borderlands with the writing and gameplay of the guys behind halo.

Idk but to me the vanguard still feels incomplete to me without one of each race representing the roles (Human, Awoken, and Exo). Having exo absent leaves a hole to be filled in my opinion

Selfishly I think we all want him back but this puts his character to rest, all the loose ends that he didn’t do before he died in forsaken he got to do. Plus he even said he doesn’t really want to be here without Sundance so unless she came back I assume he’ll forever be a happy memory

What?? This is far better than a cutscene. We fought him in the campaign, you fight him in the raid and you join another 12 guardians and all your allies in a final fight to kill him as the end music of D1 blasts on the background. It is the best way possible to end the saga

I am so lost....really. I am not playing this game but I am trying to follow the story on youtube. I already watch the Final Shape Full campaign and I tought the ending was that when Mara Sov was talking about the plan after we wound and scaped from the Witness. Now I am here with this "True Ending" stuff. What I am losing? Why Savathun is here? What happened? I thought that ending would lead to a new expansion but It looks like thi is still The Final Shape expansion. Now, I know at the "suposed ending", you talk with Savathun in the radio but isn't she dead? Why she is here? I am definetly losing conten. What happened between Savathun's radio talking and the beginning of this video here? Why she is alive?

And so ends, hopefully, the franchise where the only things that ever changed were the things you would shoot at and the places where you should things. That's all the franchise ever was, but it was better in Destiny 1 because you only had to spend $160 from launch to experience everything. In Destiny 2, you had to spend at least $270 from launch to experience everything just to have the game gutted and reformatted several times. Sorry Red War veterans. Sorry Forsaken veterans. Sorry Simulated Forest veterans. Sorry Rasputin and Xol veterans. So much lost because of seasons and monetization.

SPOILERS Part of me is disappointed. It's an ending but it doesn't feel like a satisfying conclusion to the Light/Dark Saga. It felt like nothing of consequence or change really happened. Everyone survived... Cayde came back to run through this expansion for us, then died again. I was actually excited to see where the story would take us if we had no ghosts but Cayde sacrificed himself to bring it back. Then, it felt like chewing a burger with no flavor. Cayde was used to lure us back in, but then leave us exactly right back where we started in 2017. For the record, I've been here since the D1 Alpha, but more of a lore dude. As far as an expansion, it's good. As far as a conclusion to a major arc, the only arc we've only known... yeah, disappointed. I'd have rathered they gave us something cool to look forward to in the ending instead of vague messages and the promises of Episodes to MAYBE fill the gaps. Just my thoughts. Cool expansion, even still.

I quit playing in June of last year after being a day one vet, and this video did not make me wanna come back for the ending. The mission is boring, the "You show that shape it aint final" line was straight outta a disney coming of age movie, and you're right. There was no real consequence. I'll admit I did tear up seeing that a decade long story I used to be so committed to was over, but thats about it. Also all of the characters sound kind of off, and the Witness being aggressive and not calm in his speech kinda dumbs down the character imo.

Its not. Anyone can do it its a separate activity and you just need to follow the quest line of the expansion including the Cayde Exotic mission.

Yea idk I've been in and out of this game off and on since Destiny 1. I used to fall asleep to lore videos and loved this stuff. This ending is fine, it's okay I guess. This just doesn't live up to anything even close to how good or satisfactory this story was gonna be. This game has great stories but none of them are in the game.

I give Destiny a lot of shit, especially with how I feel it treats it's story sometimes, but they seemed to have really turned it around since Lightfall, thank god. Or at the very least, they tried a lot more this time around. Still not the best ending we could've hoped for, but I think it suffices well enough. They did alright here. Ain't perfect, but it'll do. The Witness still looks like an absolute dork and is by no means intimidating to me however. I'm sorry, but they fucked up his design that badly that I can't take it seriously.

Its looks like the end of destiny. They united all ex enemy of our guardian, killed and bring back and killed again cayde, mixed all sub class our guardian. What they want to do next ? New spieces enemy? New planet with old enemies ?(Of course if they taken old planets. Bungie likes do that) I dont see future for this game. I end play this sh.. before neomuna. They wants only money for new season new guns and skins. All of us pay them for the new story but everytime they taken old stuff what we buy allready.. no more bungie and destiny
